Bridging the gap between faith and tech
About us
FaithTech is a global tech community for Christ. We are hackers, investors, entrepreneurs, CEO's, designers, marketers, and everything in between, that want to stop separating our work in tech from our faith. We see them as unified. So we meet together, think together and build technology together in the name of Christ.

Our New York City Meetup this week features a great talk from FaithTech Director of Labs, Christine Abernathy! Join us as Christine explores the evolution of human communication, from intimate gatherings to global connectivity, and envisions a future where technology enables instant app creation for sharing experiences. As we step into this vision, she'll challenge us to imagine the possibilities and pitfalls of this new frontier. Christine invites Christian innovators to consider how they can be "salt and light" in shaping this future in a redemptive way that enhances human connection and glorifies God. https://lnkd.in/euz4KTNx

🚀 Weekend Recap: My Experience at #HACKVAN2024 🚀 This weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in #HACKVAN2024, a hackathon with a purpose. The event exists to help redemptive organizations leverage tech to accelerate their impact, and I couldn’t be more inspired by the vision and values behind it. I worked on a project for Greater Vancouver Youth Unlimited (YU), focusing on a unique challenge: How can we encourage youth workers to measure statistics while maintaining the dignity of the people they are serving? Our goal was to help YU shine by enabling them to track their impact with precision, allowing them to approach more donors and ultimately serve more at-risk youth in our community. One of the things I loved about this hackathon was how different it felt from traditional ones. Teams were formed randomly on the spot, and project visionaries pitched their ideas, making the experience dynamic and full of surprises. It was amazing to see how faith in technology can drive meaningful change, beyond just profit. A huge shoutout to my incredible team — Jacob (our go-to guy), Siddhartha, Michelle, Simon, and Anthony —who were super collaborative and always open to my input. Together, we built on top of an existing Vue/Node.js prototype, adding features that will hopefully make a real difference for YU. And of course, a big thank you to the hosts, organizers, and volunteers — Winnie, Nathan, Sean, Jane, and Charlene — for keeping us energized with excitement, food and a well-organized event from start to finish. Feeling grateful for this experience and looking forward to seeing how our work will make an impact!
