Last Wednesday, our Fall Creek® team wrapped up our 2024 High Chill Field + Forum in Oregon. We had a record turnout of growers and industry professionals joining us for a full day that included a visit to our research farm with several presentations and lunch back at our main nursery location in Lowell, Oregon.   The tour at our research farm is always a guest favorite with blind taste tests of released and new varieties. In our demonstration field, attendees had the opportunity to view fruiting plants, and sample fruit, while getting their new variety questions answered by our Grower Support team. In addition, our Breeding & Applied Research teams showcased some of the latest technologies used in research in order to bring valuable information to growers.   ArabellaBlue® 'FC14-062' was the spotlight variety at this year's event. This Fall Creek-bred high chill variety has large, aromatic and sweet berries that ripen early to mid-season. Now planted by more than 120 growers in high chill regions across the globe, growers are quickly learning about this high-yielding variety with excellent flavor scores even following cold storage.   A highlight of this year's Fall Creek Field + Forum was the panel discussion featuring panelists Gonzalo de Elizalde of Driscoll's, Todd E. of Good Farms/A&W, and Kasey Cronquist of the USHBC/NABC. The panel was led by moderator Thomas Avinelis of Quiet Meadow Farm. Each panelist had a distinctly different perspective and have years of experience in blueberries. The session was filled with their valuable thoughts about how the industry must move forward to meet the demands of increasingly discerning retailers and consumers. It was a lively discussion!   We are grateful to our speakers and to all our guests who joined us for the day. We're already thinking about our 2025 High Chill Field + Forum. If you are interested in receiving information on next year's event, please let us know.   Go Blueberries! https://lnkd.in/drzw3Er4 #fallcreekblueberries #fallcreekfieldandforum #blueberrylearning #fallcreekgenetics #goblueberries #aworldwithbetterblueberries
