An insightful discussion last night between Pulitzer Prize winning authors, Matthew Desmond (Poverty, By America) and Andrea Elliot (Invisible Child) about the causes and effects of poverty across our country. Thank you to Partners for Health Foundation for sponsoring this important conversation. And thank you to the Montclair Public Library for coordinating this Open Book/Open Mind event in collaboration with Watchung Booksellers and UCC. If you haven’t read either of these books, we encourage you to do so. There is so much to understand about the plight of homelessness and poverty across the US and how we can do better.
