Family Promise of Greater Denver

Did you know that most parents spend up to $500 on back to school supplies each year? With inflation and rising cost of living, this isn’t possible for many parents. This is why each year Family Promise of Greater Denver hosts a Back to School Resource Fair, where we provide all necessary back to school items to the families who are currently in our program or recently gone through our program. At this event, backpacks, pencils, pens, highlights, rules, erasers, markers, and much more were offered so all the children who were in Family Promise programs are able to go back to school feeling prepared and confident! This past weekend, Family Promise of Greater Denver was the beneficiary of a two-day Parrot Head Club event! The two days were filled with great music, great food, gift basket raffles, and silent auction items. In the two days, over $8,000 was raised to go directly towards Family Promise. The money raised from this event will go towards supporting the families in our program and gives us the ability to provide services to more families in the future. Now more than ever the services of Family Promise are in demand and to keep up with the demand, donations such as these are needed. Back to school season is coming up! Family Promise of Greater Denver provides back to school supplies to the families currently in our program and to those who have recently been in our programs each year. We are asking for donations of back to school supplies this year so each child can enter the school year feeling prepared and confident. Thank you Kiddie Academy for your generous donation of over 100 birthday boxes towards Family Promise of Greater Denver. These birthday boxes contain cake mix, frosting, candles, birthday hats, a table cloth, napkins, spoons, and a personalized birthday card….all items for the perfect birthday party! Families facing homelessness are already going through enough hardships as is and not having the ability or resources to celebrate their child’s birthday would only add to the stress. Everyone deserves their birthday to be celebrated! Mark your calendars! Family Promise's annual Warming Ways for Winter is November 14th at Upper Larimer. You don't want to miss this night filled with great food, drinks, and all while supporting a great cause! All proceeds from Warming Ways for Winter will go directly towards the life saving services and programs Family Promise provides to families at risk of or currently facing homelessness. Just because we have passed the half way point of June doesn't mean the celebration for pride month needs to slow down! We hope that everyone who celebrates pride month has had a great month thus far and continues the celebrations for the rest of the month and beyond. The LGBTQIA+ community has made tremendous strides throughout the years which is why at Family Promise we wanted to take this time to wish all of those who celebrate a Happy Pride Month. While celebration is important, so is action. We can all take action to make sure our workplaces and communities are more inclusive for those part of the LGBTQIA+ community. #happypridemonth #nonprofit

Happy Father's Day! Happy father's day to all of the single father's, fathers in our programs, and to every father beyond that.
