Partnering with local leaders and equipping youth in rural Uganda with the tools to break cycles of poverty forever.

About us

Far Away Friends exists to equip youth in rural Uganda with the tools to transform their own communities and break cycles of poverty forever. Through our partnerships with high-impact local leaders in the communities we serve, we're investing in the development of resources that support the whole child. Since 2016, we have been providing access to high quality primary education for children in Amolatar District at our model school, Global Leaders Primary (GLP). Our Primary 7 students have successfully passed their Primary Leaving Exams (PLE) at a 100% pass rate in the top two divisions, putting GLP on the map as one of the best private schools in the region. Additionally, we support the salaries and continued professional development of 22 Teachers and school support staff, as well as partner with several resource-poor, high-potential government schools to improve student learning environments as part of our School Outreach Program.
