  • A thriving pasture—with zero inputs. 🌱 At our Burns Ranch, a pasture mix of clover, festulolium, and perennial ryegrass has been growing strong since 2018—without fertilizers or chemicals. In Fridays on the Farm Episode 15, California Farm Manager Frank Savage explains how these plant species work together to: ✔ Fix nitrogen naturally with clover. ✔ Improve soil health with deep-rooted grasses. ✔ Support long-term productivity by feeding soil biology. Resilient farmland starts with healthy soil.

  • 🫛 Green beans don’t wait, and neither do we. At Kennel Farm, green beans are harvested around the clock. But Why? In Episode 14 of Fridays on the Farm, Oregon Row Crop Manager Stuart Allen takes us inside the around-the-clock green bean harvest at Kennel Farm—one of several farms where we grow green beans in Oregon. 🔹 Farmland LP grows about 1,200 acres of green beans across multiple farms in Oregon (1,015 acres) and California (184 acres). 🔹 Kennel Farm, featured in this episode, covers 300 acres of our Oregon green bean production. 🔹 Green beans fix their own nitrogen, making them a valuable part of our regenerative crop rotation. See how we harvest them all night long to keep the canneries running. #FridaysOnTheFarm #GreenBeanHarvest #SustainableFarming #RegenerativeAgriculture

  • Why is food an asset class? Because 8 billion people eat every day. Global food systems are vast, encompassing farmland, logistics, retail, and more. Yet, as the population increases, change disrupts traditional agriculture, and the need for innovation has never been greater. Craig Wichner highlighted how Farmland LP helps redesign these systems—shifting farmland from conventional to organic, meeting consumer demand while building long-term resilience in a volatile climate. 🎙 Explore the future of food systems with Craig in the Milken Institute Global Conference Panel hosted by Food Tank: https://lnkd.in/dqVxty4s

  • The U.S. Treasury market just sent a warning: inflation expectations are shifting and here's what's going on: For the first time since 2020, the two-year breakeven rate (a key market-based inflation indicator) has exceeded the most recent CPI reading. When this happens, it signals that traders expect inflation to rise, rather than decline, in the near term. What’s driving this shift? 📌 Consumers now expect inflation to average 3.3% over the next decade—the highest outlook since 2008. 📌 The 10-year breakeven rate is at its highest since early 2023, showing a longer-term shift in inflation sentiment. 📌 Food inflation remains a concern—eggs alone contributed 1.4 percentage points to food price increases in January, the largest impact in over a decade. Historically, real assets—farmland, commodities, real estate, and tangible resources like precious metals—have played a stabilizing role during inflationary periods. What do you think? Are we entering a new inflation cycle, or is this just a temporary blip? #Inflation #Markets #RealAssets #farmland

  • The Rockefeller Foundation’s report, "Financing for Regenerative Agriculture," lays out the stakes in clear financial terms: 🌍 The cost of our current food system is staggering. The negative externalities—climate change, water depletion, and biodiversity loss—are twice the market value of global agricultural production. 💰 Regenerative agriculture isn’t just necessary—it’s a $4.5 trillion investment opportunity. By shifting to soil-building, climate-resilient farming, we could prevent $5.7 trillion per year in damages to people and the planet. ⚠️ But a $250-430 billion funding gap threatens this transition. Without innovative financing and institutional capital, the shift to regenerative farming won’t happen at scale. The report, authored by The Rockefeller Foundation, TIFS Initiative, and ISF Advisors , makes one thing clear: investors play a critical role in the future of food, climate, and economic resilience. Farmland LP is already proving that organic and regenerative farmland can deliver strong financial returns while restoring soil, improving water security, and strengthening supply chains. But more capital must follow. How can we close the investment gap and accelerate this transformation? 📖 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eCZni8FY #RegenerativeAgriculture #ImpactInvesting #Farmland #ClimateFinance #SustainableFood
