Business Owner Spotlight! Check out our Marketplace business owner, Antoinette Garland from @cosmiccreole story on @canvasrebel "My name is Antoinette, and I’m an Herbalist from the South Side of Chicago. My journey to herbalism began with my Father, who was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in October of 2014, and myself, who suffer from an irregular menstrual cycle. I am so honored to receive the Community-Based Organization Partnership Award from Project Osmosis as they celebrated their 25 years of amazing work in "changing the world of design through design education." Thank you Ryan Christopher Green for presenting the award and the entire DL3 Realty team for their support. Led by the awesome visionary Vernon Lockhart, Project Osmosis mission is to create a legacy for the next generation of designers of color and provide them with a safe space to develop their creative gifts and skills. According to 2019 AIGA/Google Design Census, less than 3% of graphic designers in the U.S. are African American. We must support the amazing work Project Osmosis is set to accomplish. To assist in this goal, last year, we included Project Osmosis proposed new facility into our Morgan Park Commons Campus at the intersection of 115th Street and South Halsted. Thank you Vernon Lockhart, Julie Anixter, and the entire Project Osmosis team. Leon Walker Alex J. Sparhawk, Esq. #InvestFarSouth #BCBI Far South Community Development Corporation

#CNDA30 The Chicago Community Trust Outstanding Community Plan Award: Roseland Community Medical District Master Plan The Roseland area on Chicago’s Far South Side has long struggled with access to quality medical services, employment opportunities, housing and essential amenities. The Far South Community Development Corporation's RCMD Master Plan outlines a comprehensive strategy for addressing the diverse needs of residents by attracting and retaining hospitals, clinics, and research and educational facilities on the 95-acre RCMD. Since the plan was completed, the area has secured millions in state and federal funds and has begun expansive projects, such as the expansion of the CTA Red Line and supporting the Roseland Community Hospital in submitting a $50 million Transformation Plan to the Illinois Department of Health and Family Services.
