October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month! Let's celebrate and recognize the vital role people with disabilities play in the workforce, including many dads who lead by example every day. Whether you're a father with a disability or support someone who is, remember that inclusivity, understanding, and accessibility make all the difference. Let's advocate for workplaces that embrace diversity and create equal opportunities for all. To every dad out there overcoming challenges and breaking barriers—we see you, and we celebrate you! #NDEAM #DisabilityInclusion #DadsMatter #InclusiveWorkplace #NRFC #StrongerTogether

As dads and granddads, our role goes beyond protecting our families—it includes protecting ourselves. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and men, this concerns us, too. Did you know 1 in 833 men will develop breast cancer? Even though it's rare, it's real. Look out for signs like lumps, nipple changes, or skin dimpling. Early detection is key. Don't ignore changes, and make those regular doctor visits a priority. Let’s lead by example and show our kids that real strength is taking care of ourselves. 💪🏽💖 🔗 https://bit.ly/4eMMlpL #MensHealth #BreastCancerAwareness #DadsMatter #GenXDads #FamilyFirst #NRFC

🎗️ October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎗️ Fathers, this month is a reminder of the importance of supporting the women we love—mothers, partners, daughters, sisters, and friends. Breast cancer impacts families everywhere, and we all play a role in raising awareness and promoting early detection. Here are a few ways we can show up: Encourage Regular Screenings: Remind the women in your life to schedule their mammograms and perform self-exams. Learn and Share the Facts: Educate yourself about the risks, symptoms, and preventive measures. Share this knowledge within your circles. Support Awareness Initiatives: Participate in local events, donate, or wear pink to show solidarity. Together, we can help make a difference. Let’s stand strong, be proactive, and continue to raise our voices for this vital cause. 💪🏽💖 #BreastCancerAwareness #SupportTheWomenYouLove #DadsCare #NRFC #EarlyDetectionSavesLives

You’ll spend weeks preparing for this special day, and the full military homecoming experience may last for weeks afterward. However, as with any highly anticipated event, the reality for your family could be different from your expectations. Having your loved one back is wonderful, but returning home from deployment is also another significant transition. With advance planning and some military homecoming ideas, you can prepare your children for the joys–and occasional stresses–of having the whole family together again. https://bit.ly/4dSAmqB

Most young children have a hard time with separation at one time or another. When they’re really young, little ones are still learning object permanence—the understanding that you still exist even when they can’t see you (that’s why five-month-olds love peek-a-boo—they’re starting to figure it out)! Of course, even as kids grow, you’re still their favorite person! When you combine that fact with all the changes and transitions that military life can bring, you may find kids need extra assurance that you are coming back. Predictable, consistent morning routines can really help. https://bit.ly/3XBBf1h

When parents transition from military to civilian life, so do children. Your children are suddenly experiencing a lot of changes that are similar to military moves. They might even call this change a move. You know that joining civilian life is not just another move, but what you’ve learned during your military years will help your family adapt to this new phase. After all, change can be an adventure… and adventures can be exciting! https://bit.ly/47fhobr
