  • Get 3D Printed Parts With Injection-Molded Quality (Faster Than You Ever Dreamed Possible) Imagine This // - What if you could get parts with injection molding-like quality and accuracy at 3D printed speeds – without tooling? - What if these parts matched the strength and mechanical properties of injection-molded parts? - What if the additive technology used to build these parts was DESIGNED to support production, not just rapid prototyping? - What if you could use it to accelerate your NPI efforts and bring new products to market faster? This isn’t just a hypothetical thinking exercise. This Technology Exists - Today! The Selective Thermoplastic Electrophotographic Process (STEP) from Evolve Additive Solutions has been producing parts at our Fremont Technology Center for a variety of customers and applications for two years. It’s a proven technology and Fathom is the only contract manufacturer that offers it. https://lnkd.in/g-nU7N5y 8 Advantages of STEP Technology // Accelerate New Product Development // Because parts can be produced quickly using STEP technology without tooling, it can help you bring new products to market faster and expand your company’s competitive edge. Excellent Surface Quality // The STEP technology produces parts with a smooth surface finish that doesn’t require post-processing. Flexible Post-Processing // If it is required, parts produced using the STEP technology can be post-processed the same as any thermoplastic parts. Fine Features // The STEP technology enables you to print part designs with fine features, small holes and complex geometries. It can accommodate thin walls without warping. Tight Tolerances // The STEP technology can achieve tolerances that are comparable to CNC machining – tighter than additive technologies or injection molding. All the Toughness of Thermoplastics // Parts produced using the STEP technology have good dimensional stability for use in hot, humid environments. They also have excellent chemical resistance to acids, bases, water and alcohol. Produce Production Parts with the Same Materials as Prototypes // STEP enables customers to go from prototype to production parts quickly and easily – something that’s not possible with other additive technologies. Minimal Design Restrictions // Many additive technologies require designers to convert thick wall designs to lattices to reduce print time and material use. STEP can handle sharp corners, thin-to-thick wall transitions and no draft. What Can STEP Do For You? If you have an injection molding project that could benefit from STEP, contact us today to discuss it with one of our application engineers. • 7 Advantages of Stereolithography (SLA) for Prototyping Stereolithography (SLA) produces parts with accurate, detailed features and a high-quality surface finish that is perfect for creating visual prototypes and for testing for fit and finish. If you’re currently leveraging machining or other traditional methods to produce prototype parts, SLA is an inexpensive and flexible alternative. What Makes SLA a Rock Star for Rapid Prototyping? Here are seven advantages stereolithography offers: Print Complex Shapes // Thanks to its fine resolution (hundreds of microns), SLA can be used to print thin walls, sharp corners, small holes and complex shapes. Small Layer Size // SLA can print in layers as small as 0.002 inches. That enables it to produce very fine details and cosmetic-quality surfaces. Tolerances // SLA offers some of the tightest dimensional tolerances of any additive manufacturing technology. High-Quality Surface Finish // The excellent surface finish and dimensional accuracy of SLA prototype parts make them ideal for testing for fit and finish. Clear Parts // We can print parts using a clear resin that can be sanded to an optically clear finish that is almost glass-like in appearance. Larger Prototypes // SLA enables the production of larger, lightweight prototype parts, using internal lattice structures for support. Easy to Post-Process // SLA parts are easy to finish by sanding, painting and/or clear coating. Why Choose Fathom’s SLA 3D Printing Service? Fathom has the capacity and expertise to help you produce high-quality stereolithography parts to meet your prototyping needs. • Unlock a No-Compromises Approach to Rapid Prototyping // MJF Experience the full potential of rapid prototyping with Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) 3D printing from Fathom: https://lnkd.in/gkcsaDVM - It produces parts with highly accurate features and isotropic mechanical properties, quickly and affordably! - Unlike some other 3D printing technologies, its powder bed fusion process doesn’t require support structures. - The printing process deposits fusing and detailing agents that help ensure smooth features and edges. All of this means MJF parts only need minimal post-processing. You can get your prototype parts quickly and accelerate your time to market. What Does MJF 3D Printing Make Possible? Here are four ways MJF can unlock new possibilities for your NPI efforts // Affordable // Because of its superior printing speed, MJF is cost-effective for prototyping and low-production parts (from one to a thousand pieces). Fine Detail // MJF produces thinner layers than SLS and other 3D printing methods, which means MJF parts can incorporate finer detail than some other additive manufacturing techniques. Similar to Injection Molded Parts // MJF can produce parts with a density similar to plastic injection-molded parts. They can be processed and machined in similar ways. That makes MJF parts perfect for design concepting and functional prototyping. Print Multiple Parts in a Single Build // Because the powdered material serves as a support structure for the parts as they’re being fabricated, they can be stacked in the Z direction, enabling you to get more parts out of each build. That makes it ideal for bridge and low-volume production. Get Your Prototype Parts From Fathom – Fast! We have machine capacity available for Nylon 11 and 12 MJF parts. We’re ready to help you move your parts from design into production, quickly and efficiently. • 5 Ways DMLS Can Revolutionize Your Approach to Metal Parts Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) enables the economical production of high-mix, low-volume metal parts. It also allows you to create complex part designs that aren’t possible using conventional methods. Because no tooling is required, parts can be produced at a fraction of the cost and time required for custom steel tooling and fixtures. The bottom line is that DMLS has the potential to revolutionize the manufacturing of metal components for many industries. But...what can it do for YOU? What is DMLS? DMLS uses a laser to melt 20- to 60-micron layers of metal powder on top of each other. Powdered metal is spread across the entire build platform and selectively melted to previous layers. This additive process allows metal parts to be grown out of a bed of powdered metal. DMLS produces high-quality metal parts that don’t require sintering and have the mechanical characteristics of cast metal parts. 5 Reasons You Should Select DMLS for Your Prototype Parts Solve the Short Run/High Mix Challenge // For years, producing short runs of metal parts via casting, machining or metal fabrication has been prohibitively expensive because of the set-up and tooling required. DMLS smashes through this barrier by eliminating these up-front costs and enabling you to print metal parts on-demand. Greater Design Freedom // Traditional manufacturing techniques like metal casting and CNC machining place limits on what you can create. DMLS enables you to produce part designs that are difficult or impossible to achieve with them, such as:  - Internal supports  - Weight-saving lattice wall sections  - Conformal cooling channels  - Undercuts  - Draft angles  - Internal cavities  - Varying wall thickness Fast Prototyping // DMLS empowers you to iterate and optimize your prototype part designs quickly – without the need for costly tooling. It can also help you bring your new products to market faster, at a minimal cost. Part Consolidation // Thanks to the design freedom that DMLS enables, you can consolidate assemblies into a single, printable part that is lighter, less expensive and more reliable. Production Parts // Need bridge production? You can use Fathom’s DMLS services to produce several hundred production-quality parts quickly so you can keep your production line running while you wait for tooling. Learn More About DMLS // Download our new DMLS guide to discover:  - How DMLS works  - How it compares to other metal 3D printing methods  - Key specifications  - Post-processing options Get it here: https://lnkd.in/gBWAfrW8 Do you have a prototype metal part project ready to kick off?
