Thursday is International Girls in ICT Day. Although women now fill 40% of high-skill occupations globally, their participation in ICT-related fields continues to be low. We can all help defy the stereotypes and biases that continue to prevent women and girls from pursuing careers in information and communications technology. Let’s step up efforts to make the tech world a more inclusive place! Details from International Telecommunication Union : https://lnkd.in/diWidH8

Working towards a sustainable future!
🌍 Just wrapped up my second COP journey at COP28 in Dubai, a place deeply tied to oil and gas. I'll be honest: skepticism hung in the air, especially with talks of potential oil deals. The global stocktake (GST) was a bit of a rollercoaster; expectations for groundbreaking results weren't quite met, and the missing 'how' left a void in the conversation, especially on the crucial phase-out of fossil fuels. 🌊 Amidst the mixed emotions, one thing stood out: the mention of preserving biodiversity and oceans in the GST. Small victories matter. I felt a bit powerless after some decisions, but the real spark came from experiencing the energy and dedication of tomorrow's leaders at COP28. Seeing how many young people advocate and fight the power dynamic gives me hope. 💪 Despite the uphill battle, I had the privilege of sharing my research on a panel hosted by the Woodwell Climate Research Center titled "The Next Generation of Climate Researchers" with fellow young climate professionals. Although I felt like I was far from making a difference, just being able to share my ideas and thoughts made me feel significant. 🙌 A huge shoutout to FAWCO for making this possible. Their support enabled me to participate at COP28, share my voice, and participate in the change we passionately strive for. The journey continues, and so does the hope! ✨ #cop28 #COP28Reflections #ClimateAction #PersonalJourney
