  • **One Small Act...**   We all know how one small decision can lead to disaster (like that time I thought bangs were a good idea). But on the flip side, one small act of *Delayed Gratification* can change your life in a much better way. Let’s say you save an extra $100 per paycheck—fast forward 20 years and you could be sitting on more than $100,000. (Or at least be a little closer to affording that vacation home with the infinity pool… #goals). The moral of the story? You probably have more control over your future than your last haircut. Planning ahead is like your financial GPS—it helps you avoid the potholes, dead ends, and the urge to blow it all on a shiny new gadget. So, what’s the plan—wing it, or win it? *Hint:* People who plan ahead have better results than those who wing it.

  • ATTENTION US POST OFFICE EMPLOYEES: Guidance for Navigating Medicare Part B Enrollment Amid Changes Change can often bring uncertainty, and we understand that many of you may have concerns about the upcoming transition in health benefits. We want to provide some clarity on an important issue for our retirees: Medicare Part B enrollment. The deadline for the "special enrollment period" is approaching on **September 30**. If you're a Postal Service retiree eligible for Medicare Part B but have not yet enrolled, this is a critical time. You have the opportunity to sign up without the typical penalty that comes with enrolling more than three months after turning 65. This special enrollment window is part of the 2022 Postal Service Reform Law, which also introduced the new **Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB)** program. Starting in January, the PSHB will replace the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program for postal employees and retirees. For many, this shift brings questions about how benefits will change and what steps need to be taken. One important detail: The special enrollment period applies to retirees not currently enrolled in Medicare Part B. While about 25% of eligible postal retirees have opted out of Part B in the past, thinking their FEHB plan was enough, this may no longer be the best approach. While both Part B and FEHB offer similar coverage, there are key differences. A crucial update for future retirees: starting next year, new retirees must enroll in Part B to qualify for PSHB coverage. However, if you're currently an employee aged 64 or older, this requirement won't apply to you. Additionally, those living abroad or receiving care through the VA or Indian Health Service are also exempt. We know change can be challenging, but we're committed to keeping you informed every step of the way. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available. Your future benefits are important to us, and we're here to support you through this transition.

"Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." Theodore Roosevelt Labor Day in the U.S.: where we honor the American labor movement with a mix of grill smoke, beachside sunburns, and a long weekend nap so legendary it could win awards. Celebrated on the first Monday of September, this holiday is like the last hurrah of summer before we reluctantly embrace pumpkin spice and the inevitable return to reality. Originally, Labor Day was designed to recognize the hard work of laborers and their contributions to America's progress—basically giving a standing ovation to everyone who’s ever worked hard enough to deserve a break. These days, it's less about speeches and more about lounging in your backyard, stuffing your face with barbecue, and pretending that doing absolutely nothing is a form of productivity. So, while we’re kicking back and enjoying that extra day off, let’s give a nod to the workers who made it all possible... with a burger in one hand and a cold drink in the other. Come Tuesday, do good to do well. Until then, Cheers!
