A fleet of supplies, including bottled water, meals, tarps, plastic sheeting and generators, arrived at FEMA’s Fort Worth, TX warehouse this morning, ready for distribution after Beryl’s impact. This is just one way we're getting supplies where they are needed as #Beryl quickly approaches the Texas coastline.

Today Administrator Criswell briefed President Biden and other leaders on the Spring disaster season and our readiness for the 2024 hurricane season. At FEMA we are working hard to meet communities where they are, to help them overcome barriers to our assistance and help jumpstart their recovery. As we look ahead to a busy summer defined by strong storms, wildfires, and extreme heat, we stand ready to meet our mission of helping people before, during, and after disasters.

This April, FEMA’s Resilient Nation Partnership Network co-hosted the 2024 Partnership Forum with the Sundance Institute, centered on “Stories of Resilience: Voices That Inspire.” Through the Forum partners engaged with industry peers, networked, and explored how storytelling can build community resilience. Meet Zachary Merino, a Program Delivery Manager in our Recovery Division's Public Assistance Program. Since joining FEMA in 2019, he feels fortunate to have the opportunity to help communities rebuild after a disaster. “I would like people to know that there are other aspects of FEMA beyond just the immediate response, and that we work a lot on the back end. It’s mostly paperwork, but it’s still very important. We obligate a lot of funds to our state partners and help them rebuild after a disaster.” Thank you for following along this month as we shared about FEMA's Public Assistance Program in Region 10. Feel free to review our previous posts to learn more about FEMA’s largest grant program.
