The artist has spent over three decades exploring the intersections of history, photography, and memory. The MFAH is the only U.S. venue for this exhibition, touring internationally!

[ON VIEW] "Thomas Demand: The Stutter of History" is now on view at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. At first, the images Thomas Demand creates seem to depict the real world. A closer look, however, reveals that they are actually photographs of temporary sculptural re-creations. The artist often selects his source imagery from the news media, and he re-creates those images as life-size paper models. Then he photographs them and prints them at a monumental scale. Afterward, he destroys his models, leaving behind only their ghostly photographic doubles. The internationally touring exhibition "Thomas Demand: The Stutter of History" is a landmark retrospective of the artist’s work, and the MFAH is the only venue in the U.S. It can be seen from June 30 to September 15, 2024. [ON VIEW] “Beyond Fashion” is now on view at Saatchi Gallery, London! The exhibition showcases the work of acclaimed fashion photographers from around the world. The pictures demonstrate how fashion photography has moved past the simple presentation of product lines to reflect on the reality of our lives, to explore our aspirations and to push at the boundaries of creativity. Including works by Nick Knight, Peter Lindbergh, Viviane Sassen, Paolo Roversi, Miles Aldridge, and Ellen von Unwerth – as well as an exciting new generation of fashion photographers – “Beyond Fashion” celebrates the vision and creativity of these artists and image-makers, and documents how fashion photography has become a new and exciting visual language. The exhibition showcases the work of acclaimed fashion photographers from around the world. The works demonstrate how fashion photography has moved past the simple presentation of product lines to reflect on the reality of our lives, to explore our aspirations and to push at the boundaries of creativity. [NEW OPENING] The Jut Art Museum will host two sections of "Civilization: The Way We Live Now" at its satellite venue "Uncanny" from May 18 to June 30, 2024. For the first time, the museum extends its exhibition to the space "Uncanny" at NOKE, with eight themes fully unfolding in the two exhibition venues. While the main venue features six themes, the satellite venue accommodates "ESCAPE" and "ALONE TOGETHER", two themes that explore the collective state of mind of humankind in the global village. After touring in major museums across Korea, China, Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy and the UK, "Civilization" will be on view in Taiwan until June 30. [LAST DAYS] "Flora Imaginaria" will be closing this Sunday, April 28 at the Society of the Four Arts, Palm Beach, FL. Flowers have been a source of inspiration for photographers since the medium’s inception. Today, flower photography remains in full bloom as contemporary photographers continue the storied tradition of depicting floral motifs in novel ways. Flora Imaginaria features images shot over the last 30 years and is an ode to this historically important photographic subject. It explores the aesthetic and decorative qualities of flowers and their rich cultural history as symbols and motifs through many genres of photography, including still lifes, botanical studies, portraits, studies of the body, street photography, and surrealist collages. Featured artists include Pedro Almodóvar, Valérie Belin, Daniel Gordon, Abelardo Morell, Vik Muniz, Viviane Sassen, and Martin Schoeller, along with a selection of emerging artists.
