The Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati (FHLB) is a regional wholesale bank providing housing finance and economic development products and services to more than 600 member institutions located in the Fifth FHLB District of Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. The FHLB System, including 11 district banks and over 6,000 members, was chartered in 1932 by the U.S. Congress to provide liquidity and other funding for housing finance. The FHLB is wholly owned by its member institution stockholders and does not use taxpayer dollars. For seniors, finding the financial resources to stay in their homes as they age can be challenging. Rebuilding Together Dayton and member KeyBank are using our Carol M. Peterson Housing Fund to address this issue in Montgomery County, Ohio. In total, a little under $1.3 million was awarded to the group to assist 67 senior households.
