Mental Illness Awareness Week is an important time to focus mental health conditions and their impact on overall health. Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Friday, October 11 and ends at nightfall on Saturday, October 12. Yom Kippur - the Day of Atonement – is a day set aside for fasting, seeking reconciliation, and is primarily centered on meaningful reflection and repentance. Fidelis Care and NYPD Patrol Borough Manhattan North teamed up for a special Harmony Day event in NYC, promoting unity between community members and law enforcement. Thank you to all those who attended!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It's a time to come together and bring attention to this horrific abuse, which impacts people and families in every community. Fidelis Care recently spoke with leaders from WARM NYC and Unity House of Troy about critical support services available for intervention and prevention to help those facing domestic violence and let them know they are not alone. Fidelis Care representatives attended the Graham Windham (GW) Back-to-School event, giving out school supplies to kids in attendance while answering questions about health insurance and helping people apply for coverage. Fidelis Care would like to thank the Tioga County Boys & Girls Club for helping us host a Veggies to Go event, giving away over 100 bags of fresh, locally sourced vegetables to those in need.

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year and the first of the Jewish High Holy Days. This year, it is celebrated from sundown October 2 through sundown October 4.
