Our HND Performing Arts students entertained stakeholders from across the industry and schools with their abridged version of "A Christmas Carol". The performance was outstanding, as expected, but the highlight of the evening was when the team pitched to industry about the ways they could bring learning out to the community. As the 50th anniversary year since the reconstitution of St Leonard’s College is reaching its end, we are thrilled to share a special digital postcard video titled “For all time” with all our postgraduate students, alumni and staff.   “For all time” was commissioned by St Leonard’s College to mark 50 years since our reconstitution as a postgraduate college in November 1974. It was composed by Peter Johnstone, a former Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year, and part of the first cohort to graduate from the Royal Conservatoire Scotland Graduate Jazz Course, who is currently completing his doctoral degree. Since 2000, the University of St Andrews has awarded and validated research degrees made by the RCS.    The track, performed beautifully by current staff and students from the University of St Andrews and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, celebrates not only the 50th anniversary of St Leonard’s College but also the enduring partnership between our institutions. It was recorded by the talented staff and students from the Fife College Faculty of Digital and Creative Industries at the Fife College Glenrothes Studio.   We hope this video brings back fond memories of postgraduate study at the University of St Andrews, and inspires you as we look forward to the future. Two of our very committed HNC Travel and Tourism students gaining valuable work experience at the Ingolstadt Christmas Market. Leigh and Lilly travelled to Germany this week and will spend ten 10 days immersed in the German culture whilst supporting sales on the Scottish stall. They will have the chance to explore Ingolstadt, nearby Munich and also refine their skills and experience to ready them for a successful career in the travel and tourism industry. This opportunity has been made possible through the Kirkcaldy Ingolstadt Association working with us at Fife College and with our German partners at FOS/BOS. What a pleasure to collaborate with Fife Cultural Trust (OnFife) for the VIP Panto at Kirkcaldy’s Adam Smith Theatre. Working alongside the in house team, the students welcomed 360 “very excited” kids and adults from local charties such as The Cottage Family Project & Fife Young Carers. Well done to the kitchen teams from both Kirkcaldy & Levenmouth campuses for producing food for the event. It was lovely to have a Christmas breakfast today with the culinary arts and hospitality team at Fife College, even lovelier to celebrate George Smiths’s thirty year work anniversary. Less lovely was Adam F. and I being left to do the dishes😩. This team are absolutely tremendous, Christmas covers alone have totalled 650. I have no idea how they do it. Yesterday was an amazing day at the Kirkcaldy campus as we hosted our Business consultation event! We had over 80 enthusiastic students join us, and it was a resounding success! This event was a fantastic opportunity for students to bridge the gap between theory and practice, tackling real-world business challenges and gaining invaluable insight into problem-solving and creativity. A big shoutout to Crispen and Peter from East Neuk 50 for their dynamic engagement with our students! They created a unique platform where students could share their innovative ideas and contribute to driving the business forward. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who worked tirelessly to organize such a beneficial experience, and a huge appreciation to East Neuk 50 for their time, openness, and collaboration.
