When the Financial Cents folks asked what "operational freedom means to me", I responded with zero hesitation ➡️ working from my pool in Mexico during tax season. 🏊♀️ Yep. For almost five months (...and then I go on vacation). 👙 We run a hyperlocal firm client-wise, but it's 100% remote -- my team and I are located all over the country. I haven't even met some of them in person, and yet they're among my dearest friends. 💖 How? Because we've invested time and energy to streamline our workflows, so that by the time the client books get to the tax team, there's no cleanup work, and no questions about whether "such-and-such" has been reviewed yet. Our bookkeepers know what our tax team needs to keep moving forward and delivers it -- we no longer get mired in questions that could have been answered beforehand, and thus we maximize our most precious tax season asset: our time. ⏳ At my session at #WorkflowCon, I'm going to be sharing how to "Tear Down the Wall: Workflows for Bookkeeper & Tax Preparer Collaboration," where I'll provide actionable steps and proven tools that have helped my team and our clients reclaim our work-life integration. Plus... I get to work in the pool. 😁  Ready to streamline your workflow? Join me on October 22nd from 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM ET. 💻 Register here - https://hubs.li/Q02N7R0W0 Shoot me a note in the comments... what does "operational freedom" mean to YOU? (Or what do you *wish* it could mean if you only could unlock the secrets to making it happen?)

For me, freedom means running a self-sustaining business that allows me to do things outside of work – like traveling to places like Indonesia, Greece, Italy, etc.

    Accounting For Accountants

🎯 Workflows that involve client collaboration have two main buckets. The nitty-gritty client work and the stuff that helps us keep those client relationships solid. 💦 Deep client work, often intensive and very often custom for each client: • Accounts Payable  • Accounts Receivable • Payroll If they are low-touch and low-intensity—perhaps simply a review of the transactions that the client completes—you could have these as part of weekly or monthly workflows. But if they are full-cycle, you may want to consider building them as their own workflows. Full-cycle workflows are scheduled in Financial Cents using a combination of work types. They generally have dependencies to ensure the work is done in the correct order. They also often likely have a task section for Manager File review. • Weekly bookkeeping • Monthly bookkeeping • Quarterly bookkeeping • Year End review and close 🐶 Client management, not work management. • Onboarding and engagement • Re-engagement • Dis-engagement 🛠️ Build workflow templates encompassing all the major tasks someone would do. Then, copy that master for niche or industry work and create workflows for each client’s needs.  They create consistency and are much easier to edit than starting each workflow fresh. To reference one of my fav topics, naming conventions, label the master copies as such! The financialcents team asked me what operational freedom means to me, and it took me less than a minute to respond—it's being able to spend time playing Dungeons and Dragons instead of having to work all weekend. I love painting my own figures and creating my own adventures...even though I'm not in the office, it's still hard to teleport to the Sword Coast. 😎 Peep my AI-generated image perfecting depicting my idea of freedom 😎 At my session at WorkflowCon, I'm going to be sharing on "Tax-Time Tune Up: Perfecting Your Year-End Books" where I'll provide actionable steps I use to make sure my clients' books are right before I turn them over to their CPA. 🧑💻💡 🔗 Ready to streamline your workflow?
