  • First Long Island Investors, LLC is incredibly proud to share that Island Harvest Food Bank has officially launched its farm season at the #IslandHarvest Healthy Harvest Farm & Greenhouse in Brentwood. Stephen Juchem, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of First Long Island Investors, LLC is the current Island Harvest Board Treasurer and the incoming Board Chair.  Steve had the honor of kicking off the press conference on Monday, June 10th alongside President and CEO Randi Shubin Dresner. Since 2018, the 1.7-acre farm generously donated by the Sisters of St. Joseph has thrived as a fully functioning oasis. In just three years, the farm has harvested over 25,000 pounds of fresh produce, making a tangible difference in the lives of community members. This season marks an exciting new chapter for Island Harvest. They are embracing regenerative farming techniques that prioritize soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable practices. These methods not only enrich the land but also yield more nutritious produce for our neighbors in need. Island Harvest’s Giving Garden initiative and seed program have seen remarkable success, empowering community members to grow their own fresh fruits and vegetables. This year, they are expanding their crop diversity to better reflect the cultural backgrounds of those they serve, ensuring everyone has access to the nourishing foods that matter most to them. Island Harvest remains committed to addressing food insecurity and promoting healthy eating on Long Island. This farm season, Island Harvest is looking forward to collaborating with partners, volunteers, and the community to continue growing a brighter, more sustainable future for all. #IslandHarvest #FoodBank #FarmingForGood #CommunityFirst #HealthyHarvest
