It's the spooky season, and you know what's scarier than ghosts and goblins? Having a mountain of data debt. When you overspend on technology without proper data governance, you can accumulate monstrous data debt. Before you know it, you're drowning in a sea of unmanaged, unstructured data that's truly terrifying. Here's another scary thought: Embarking on a data initiative without an executive sponsor. That's like venturing into a dark, eerie forest without a flashlight or map. You could get lost, stumble and even encounter a data demon. Having a data champion by your side is like having a trusty guide leading you through the occasionally murky world of data governance. Then there's the terror of poor-quality data! It's the equivalent of finding a zombie in your dataset — lifeless, decaying and ready to infect your entire system. Poor quality data can lead to incorrect insights, misguided decisions and a horde of angry stakeholders — that's the stuff of nightmares. If data problems haunt your dreams, FSFP can make the monsters disappear, turning your data thoughts into sweet dreams. https://lnkd.in/g-rEgMAn 1-888-499-DATA (3282) #happyhalloween #datagovernance #dataquality #informationmanagement #csuite #informationquality

Good vibes. Good times. Cattle drives. More than a dozen of our team mates met IRL this week for an offsite that included heads-down client work and after-hours bonding. And a few of us took in one of the daily cattle drives since our hotel was near the Fort Worth Stockyards. 🤠 Not everyone from First San Francisco Partners could make it to Texas — catch y'all next time! — but yesterday's All Hands Zoom call gave us a chance to see their friendly faces. Our team celebrated Kelle O'Neal's announcement of our newest FIRST* Award winner, Becky Lyons, as we listened to a recent client kudo and heartfelt shout-outs from some team members. You're a treasure, Becky! * FIRST = Our Values Focus Integrity Resourcefulness Skillfulness Teamwork #teambonding #datamangement #datagovernance #texasstyle #ftworth

Is your business considering an ERP transformation in 2025? If so, you might be interested in article that caught our CEO Kelle O'Neal's attention this week. She posted about it on her LinkedIn page, writing about how data isn’t just a detail in an ERP transformation — data plays a critical role in the initiative's success. #ERP #datamanagement #businesstransformation #enterpriseresourceplanning
Founder & CEO of data consulting firm FSFP | We help companies navigate change to scale operational excellence and maximize the value of insights | Women in Data Management and Governance Co-Chair SIG board member
I couldn't help but notice how this insightful article from Chief Executive CEO Briefing, "Preventing ERP Heartbreak: A Guide," only briefly mentions data. Data management is pivotal, yet often understated in ERP transformations. Take the Caleres case study, for example, with its estimated $10-15M of lost sales callout. It's likely a "data artery blockage" was at play. (I'm expounding upon the article's organ transplant analogy.) In ERP transitions, data acts as the lifeblood that keeps everything running smoothly, ensuring the new system integrates seamlessly into the core operations of the business. To ensure your ERP initiative not only survives but thrives, prioritize data integrity. It flows through every facet of the transformation, driving acceptance and success. $3 trillion dollars. That's Forbes' estimate of how much bad data costs U.S. businesses. Also per Forbes: B2B data decays at a rate of 70% per year. For your email marketing efforts, this could mean that 7 out of 10 emails sent by your sales and marketing professionals go nowhere. Or imagine data quality's impact on your customer data. Outdated or incorrect information could lead to poor customer experiences and lost revenue opportunities. FSFP's Data Quality and Observability Framework allows you to leverage your existing data governance capabilities to jumpstart data quality success. Our team can help you charter a data quality path that's right-sized for your business, meeting you wherever you are. We know the critical importance of defined, quality data. As you embark on data quality, data governance or AI initiatives, consider us your partner in rapid value realization and sustainable practices. Our pragmatic approach ensures your data initiatives are successful in the short term and built on a foundation of trusted data that supports long-term growth and innovation. Get to know Josh Henderson at First San Francisco Partners in our new Meet the Team profile on our blog. We asked him a half-dozen questions including how he'd explain his FSFP role to a third-grader — he said, "Do you know how sometimes you have puzzles or challenges to figure out? Companies have puzzles called problems. One big problem they often have is with something called data. Data is information about everything they do, like how many people buy their toys or how much money they make." Josh shared advice on how someone might break into the field of data management and also talked about the time he spends in Greece with his family and the benefits of learning about and living in others' cultures. (The photo is of Josh on the Seitan Limania beach in Crete.)
