Meet Janet Worgull, Supply Chain Coordinator II — at Fives Intralogistics Corp. 👋 Janet joined the Fives team in April 2022. After leaving the automotive industry, she began her career in material handling here at Fives. With over 20 years of experience in Supply Chain operations, Janet has held positions in buying, sourcing, and coordinating parts logistics. In her current role, she serves as a liaison between procurement, customer service, project management, and suppliers to ensure the smooth flow of parts and materials. A significant aspect of her role is researching, locating, and expediting parts to project sites when shipment delays occur in order to maintain project schedules. This means she has the opportunity to work with several departments within Fives and communicate with both current and potential suppliers. Since returning to the Louisville area, Janet has been on a journey of growth at Fives. She joined the company to expand her supply chain experience and has since seen her role evolve over the last two years. Recently, she received a well-deserved promotion and has taken on more responsibility within the procurement team, focusing on reviewing current processes for improved execution and efficiency. Her advice to the next generation seeking a similar career path is this: “Don’t shy away from thinking creatively or considering unconventional possibilities. Last month, DPD officially opened its new parcel distribution hub in Loures, Portugal. With a total area of 12,000 square meters, this new hub, the largest in the country, is part of DPD’s expansion plan in response to its growth. The automated sorting solution designed by Fives showcases loop sorting technology and includes one 405-meter-long GENI-Belt™cross-belt sorter, three GENI-Feed high-speed induction lines, and 95 destination chutes for local and international deliveries. She started her career as a metalsmith and drafter for a manufacturer of lighting, then she spent four years as a project manager and earned her PMP certification in 2021. She chose to join Fives after meeting the team during her interview and experiencing the positive work environment. Abby also appreciates having a flexible schedule and the ability to work remotely.
