Security and risk management leaders must refine their strategies to respond to threats in a VUCA world, as their organizations pursue digital transformations and criminals evolve their techniques. Per Gartner, they should: 🔸 “Prioritize initiatives to address volatile threats, such as attacks against AI applications, as attackers quickly progress in their ability to exploit weaknesses.” 🔸 “Treat the most complex threats as a series rather than a single entity. Adapt to microtrends and evolution, and invest in extra communication efforts.” 🔸 “Invest in exposure management and threat intelligence to identify the most relevant threats to their organization and avoid potential distraction from unconfirmed and unverifiable claims.” Download the latest Gartner® Research: How To Respond to the Threat Landscape in a Volatile, Complex, and Ambiguous World, to learn more. https://lnkd.in/dRnf6JgH #ThreatIntelligence

In a rapidly changing threat landscape, the divide between cyber and physical security is vanishing. Flashpoint CEO Josh Lefkowitz, in a new interview with Alexander Culafi for TechTarget, dives into why this convergence demands a new way of thinking about security. “We're seeing organizations within the enterprise set up fusion centers because they're recognizing that the siloed approach – where this is the cyber swim lane and this is the physical swim lane -- is anachronistic,” Josh says. “It's not reflective of how bad guys are operating. It's not reflective of today's dynamic threat landscape.” This shift is driving the need for a comprehensive, integrated security strategy—one that Flashpoint is uniquely positioned to deliver. From protecting C-level executives on the move, to monitoring critical events for both physical and cyber threats, our intelligence solutions provide the 360-degree visibility necessary to stay ahead of emerging risks. In their discussion, Josh also highlights the importance of global collaboration in the fight against cybercrime. As threat actors become more sophisticated and their tactics more complex, international partnerships and innovative approaches are making a real impact. Two key players behind WWH-Club, a major Russian-language cybercrime forum, have been charged by US authorities for allegedly running an illicit enterprise helping more than 170,000 users buy stolen bank account numbers, hire hackers, and execute DDoS attacks. Despite these arrests, WWH-Club remains online and operational, quickly distancing itself from the accused and allowing members to change their screen names—a move likely intended to evade further scrutiny. This case offers a rare glimpse into the sophistication and resilience of cybercriminal networks, and it highlights the ongoing tug-of-war between law enforcement and threat actors. The recent resurgence of groups like ALPHV and LockBit, along with multiple takedowns of Breach Forums, demonstrate that while victories are possible, cybercrime is a perpetual cycle. As criminals become more organized, our strategies must evolve to meet the challenge. Read Flashpoint’s full analysis of these arrests and their impact on the cybercrime ecosystem, and how organizations can stay ahead of evolving threats: https://lnkd.in/e57Z5qPv #CyberSecurity #ThreatIntelligence  #Cybercrime

Day two of Black Hat is underway, and it’s undeniable that we are facing an increasingly complex threat landscape including the convergence of cyber, physical and geopolitical threats. A true standout of day two for our team was Lester Godsey’s presentation. If you missed it, Lester, the CISO of Maricopa County, AZ, discussed the intense battle against misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation (MDM), and emphasized that MDM impacts everyone—not just governments. With human analysts at the forefront, the fight against MDM is more crucial than ever. It’s been incredible connecting face-to-face with so many cybersecurity experts. If you haven’t made it to the Flashpoint booth yet, this is your reminder that our final live demo will be at 3pm PT today at booth #3041. #BHUSA #Disinformation #ThreatIntelligence
