“Every Fleet Feet will tell you that they’re involved in the community,” said Frank DeJulius, a Fleet Feet franchise owner that operates seven Fleet Feet stores in Cincinnati, Ohio along with his wife, Stacey. “It’s part of our business model. I would argue that we are intensely immersed in the community to the point where there isn’t a race, a local fundraiser, run or walk event that we’re not a part of.”

Back in July, we commissioned YouGov to build the inaugural Fleet Feet Running Report, a 19-page report providing big picture insights about the running population, the brands our customers love most, and where the industry is headed. Additionally, we include data from our 3D fit id® foot scanning technology powered by Volumental. Retail has never changed this fast before, and will never change this slowly again. In a constantly evolving industry and world, we must keep o ur finger on the pulse to understand who's running why, how often, and how we can serve them best. We hope these insights are helpful as you think about your own markets and customers, and strive to provide them with the best products and services they need to keep moving.

Applications are now open for Fleet Feet's paid summer internship program for 2025. This program is dedicated to cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce by actively seeking out and engaging with promising individuals from underrepresented communities. Through this program, we strive to dismantle systemic barriers and bridge disparities in access to opportunities. Our ten week rotational internship provides professional development, mentorship, networking, skills development and on-the-job training in two areas of the intern's choosing at our Store Support Team (corporate office) or retail stores.

We had an incredible time at last week's Saucony X Black Girls RUN! Shoe Launch Celebration. Between the music, the food, the company, and of course the amazing new BGR edition of the Endorphin Speed 4, we couldn't have asked for a better night! Thanks to Eleanor Sykes, Alice Johnson, NCCP, Jay Ell Alexander, Sharon Kyner, and the rest of the teams at Fleet Feet, Saucony, and BGR (and our friends from Black Men Run who came out in support!) who made this event possible!

This week’s employee spotlight shines on Cydne Sobczak, Inventory Manager at Fleet Feet Fayetteville. Cydne started as a part-time Outfitter and was quickly promoted to Inventory Coordinator after the store's Operating Partner noticed her talent for attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Cydne is now a full-time Inventory Manager who keeps the back of the house looking like a pharmacy. Amongst the many responsibilities Cydne has such as: cycle counts, physical inventory, e-commerce fulfillment, receiving shipments, return authorizations and merchandising she also serves as an assistant Retail Experience Manager when needed. We are beyond grateful to have her on the Fleet Feet team. Get to know her: Q: What is your favorite thing about your role? A: My favorite thing about my role is the ability to organize the store and back room. It is always a challenge trying to get everything to fit in a small space while also making sense for the rest of the staff and customers but it is super rewarding once I can make it happen. Q: Tell us about your career journey. A: We have a Santa run planned for December and I am super excited to help out with that and see that event succeed. It will be awesome seeing all those Santa's running around! Q: What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on? A: I am currently working on my leadership skills by being the shift manager during my morning shifts.   Q: What’s your go-to productivity trick? A: My go-to trick is to make a list! Put the hardest task at the top and work your way down to the easiest and try to get as many tasks ticked off as you can.   Q: What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why? A: I always try to be a problem solver and come up with new solutions to any issues that come about. I think that helps to keep things moving smoothly and allows others around me to be able to focus on their own tasks without having to worry about any additional issues. Q: Outside of work, tell us how you sweat and live passionately. A: I take my dogs on a walk everyday and try to get in a run or a lift everyday. I also love to go for hikes or bike rides in the woods or paddle boarding at a local lake.

This past week was truly incredible! Our entire Store Support Team from across the country came together in Carrboro for a week filled with learning, celebration, collaboration, and community impact. Whether leading educational sessions, sharing important updates, or hosting fun icebreakers, everyone made this week special. We also had the chance to support our Mental Wellness Employee Resource Group (ERG), reinforcing our commitment to mental health and well-being across the company. I’m so proud to be part of a team that’s not only passionate about building the Fleet Feet brand but also dedicated to growing together and giving back. Spending time with everyone this week was truly amazing. Onward.
