Today marks the 42 year anniversary of the first all female aviation crew to conduct an operation mission. The flight was conducted in a Grumman C-1 Trader from VRC-30 and ended with an arrested carrier landing on USS Ranger. Lt Elizabeth Toedt, Ltjg Cheryl A Martin, AD3 Gina Greterman, ADAN Robin Banks were the crew members. After four incredible years, we’re bidding a fond farewell to Michelle as she embarks on her next exciting chapter. Michelle’s journey with Flex Air began in 2021 when she earned her PPL at our MYF base and quickly became an essential part of our sales and mentoring team. He and his wife, Jenny, live in Kansas City where he works with the KOJC team as a senior mentor to transitioning military-to-civilian pilots in the SkillBridge, VA, and GI Bill programs. He loves anything that flies, the great games of lacrosse and rugby, and visiting the lesser-traveled regions of Iceland, Spain, and Ireland. Just got back from an incredible week at the Redbird Aviation Migration in Colorado with Paul Wynns and let me tell you—aviation’s future is anything but boring. From cutting-edge tech to industry challenges, the conversations were real, forward-thinking, and exactly what this industry needs. I had the chance to reconnect with my 2/1 Marine brother Matthew Martinez, swap insights with aviation leaders like James Viola and Rod Zastrow and dive into the big discussions shaping the future of flight training. As a proud member of the National Flight Training Alliance - NFTA, I’m fired up to be part of the team working to provide the Federal Aviation Administration with real solutions for the challenges ahead. And to cap it all off—Flex Air Flight Training was recognized as a winner in the AOPA awards. Huge shoutout to our team and to all the other top-tier instructors and flight schools that took home honors. The talent and dedication in this industry are second to none.
