We are currently seeking a skilled Safety Supervisor/Manager to oversee our safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. SUMMARY OF POSITION The Construction Safety Supervisor / Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies related to our steel erection and steel fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction safety management, particularly in environments involving steel erection and steel fabrication. A successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills and be self-motivated. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage comprehensive safety programs and policies in accordance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards. Provide safety training and education to employees, subcontractors, and site visitors. Investigate and report on all accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions. Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear. Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Maintain safety records and documentation and prepare reports for management, clients, and regulatory agencies. Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes to continually improve safety practices. Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks to communicate safety updates and reinforce safe work practices. Lead and assist with new hire training. Manage lower-tier safety professionals. 60 - 80% travel required. Clean driving record. Must be a US citizen. Able to pass security background checks for various clients. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in EHS Science, preferred OSHA 500 certification. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in safety management, specifically in steel erection/steel fabrication. In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other safety standards related to construction and manufacturing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate employees. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software, with a preference for SiteDocs.
