"LGBTQ+ elders are disproportionately affected by housing discrimination and housing insecurity when compared to non-LGBTQ+ older people. Per a 2023 LGBTQ+ Real Estate Report, 29 percent of LGBTQ+ people experienced housing discrimination or harassment in a housing setting in the past year. A separate report from the Equal Rights Center revealed that 48 percent of older people applying for elder housing were subjected to discrimination." https://lnkd.in/gd85yEir

I am so thrilled to share that I passed the Florida Bar, and today I took the Oath of Attorney, which means I'm officially a licensed attorney in Florida!! I am so grateful to Stetson University College of Law for all of the support I received over the past three years. I cannot speak highly enough of the faculty, administration, and the bar prep team. “Housing costs are extremely high, so the upfront costs associated with purchasing a home are significantly more than they were just a few years ago,” says Nikitra Bailey, executive vice president of the National Fair Housing Alliance. “It makes it extremely difficult for Black consumers to be able to accumulate the down payments from their savings alone.
