I am just getting back from the Florida Policy Institute's 2024 Summit in Sarasota, FL last week and have been reflecting on the breakout sessions and speaker line-up. Future Leaders Climate Initiative at The Aspen Institute's fellows, Anna Lynn Heine, and I drove up to Sarasota together for a full day of workshops including: - Using Strategic Storytelling to Advance Racial Equity and Economic Opportunity - Investing in Resilience: Combatting the Dual Crises of Housing and Climate Change - Employing Creative Advocacy Strategies in the Face of Administrative Obstacles One of the biggest takeaways for me was from Destini Smith from Catalyst Miami who challenged us to figure out "how to cast a vision so strongly everyone believes in it" with ideas on how to incentivize the use of vacant housing, leverage community spaces for #solarleasing, and increase availability and traffic in #thirdplaces. Thank you to Florida Policy Institute for hosting this event and supporting both Anna Lynn Heine and I with a scholarship!

Grateful to have attended the inaugural Florida Policy Institute Summit this week! It was refreshing to dive into discussions with fellow nonprofit advocates and explore a variety of critical issues beyond housing. Hearing their stories and strategies not only enriched my understanding of the important work that's happening across our state, but also inspired new ideas for collaboration. Excited to work together to create a stronger impact! 🌍✨
