Check out the Tampa Bay Chapter of FPRA's post below about: Hurricane Fatigue is Real – Let’s Talk Self-Care As we continue to work through recovery efforts, it’s important to remember that our mental health is just as important as our physical well-being. Constantly preparing, worrying, and recovering from hurricanes can lead to "hurricane fatigue" - a type of burnout that impacts our stress levels, sleep, and overall wellness. Take a moment to breathe. Whether it's a few minutes of mindfulness, a cup of tea, or a walk outside, self-care is essential to help us stay strong, mentally clear, and resilient through this ongoing storm season. Here are a few simple self-care tips:
Reminder: Hurricane fatigue is real, here is some helpful information and resources: After major stressors like hurricanes Helene and Milton, your body and mind might be feeling the weight of it all. Adrenal fatigue is real, and it can show up in ways that are easy to overlook. What it Feels Like in Your Body: • You’re always tired, no matter how much you rest. • You feel weak or achy, and it doesn’t make sense. • Your sleep is off—you’re exhausted but still feel wired. • Craving salty snacks or sweets? That’s a sign. • Your body’s slow to bounce back from illness or even a minor injury. What it Feels Like in Your Mind: • You can’t concentrate, and your brain feels foggy. • Every little thing is irritating, or you’re feeling anxious. • Even the simplest tasks feel overwhelming and draining. How to Care for Yourself: 1. Rest: Sleep is your best friend right now. Let yourself take breaks and truly listen to what your body needs. 2. Eat Right: Focus on whole foods that give you lasting energy—plenty of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs. 3. Stay Mindful: Carve out time for things that calm you—whether it’s meditation, deep breathing, or yoga. 4. Hydrate: Your body needs water to recover, especially after a stressful event. 5. Reach Out: Don’t do this alone. Connect with your community and talk about what you’ve been through. Remember, healing is a process. Be kind to yourself and take it one step at a time—you’ll get there.

🌟 Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! 🎉 This month (September 15 – October 15) we celebrate the vibrant cultures, rich histories, and countless contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. Let's honor the voices that inspire, educate, and elevate our shared future. Whether through culturally inclusive campaigns, bilingual content, or by simply listening and learning, we can all take action to foster understanding and appreciation. 💬 How are you celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month?
