The Strong Partner You & Your Project Need

About us

The Strong Partner You & Your Project Need At Floura Teeter Landscape Architects, we invest in one thing above all else: Relationships. In fact, we hold ourselves to being the strongest partner possible. Here’s how: We’re committed to building trust, and we’ve designed our culture to nurture and grow our people to be invaluable assets to you. We understand your larger goals surrounding each project and leverage our wide-ranging experience to leave no stone unturned. Our skills result in responsible design that not only is grounded in reality but also is constructible and functional over time. We’re mission-bound to help our clients, end users, and communities grow and evolve. Above all, we’re committed to creating growing, thriving, dynamic communities. It matters because we believe that public spaces are an extension of the surrounding community, and civic spaces go well beyond simply providing a natural backdrop or attractive pass-through in the urban fabric. When executed successfully, such spaces become the heart and soul of a community, and we could not be more honored to play a substantial role in partnering with our clients to achieve that vision. What Makes Us Different Floura Teeter is structured into two cross-functional design studios: Pathways and Places. Our Pathways Studio focuses on transportation enhancement projects such as streetscapes and highways, and our Places Studio focuses on site-specific projects such as retail, recreation, housing, education, and hospitality. In alignment with our culture, our Floura Teeter teams collaborate seamlessly across studios – an environment that fosters higher levels of information exchange, engagement, creativity, design excellence, and quality assurance. Understanding the expectations of our clients has made us the go-to landscape architecture firm for a diverse group of clients. Floura Teeter is a HUBZone-certified, WBENC-certified, and woman-owned small business.

Updates

  • Middle Branch Fitness & Wellness Center (Phase I) and Reedbird Park (Phase II) bring a long-awaited catalyst for community health and activity in Baltimore’s Cherry Hill neighborhood. A grant allowed for the early design and installation of the playground by Kompan which features a tower slide structure and climbing dome for older children and accessible carousel, play structure and group seesaw for younger children. The new playground includes ground-play musical elements, colorful safety surfacing, new planting and seating for caregivers. Phase I opened in Fall of 2022, featuring a fitness center, outdoor spaces, basketball courts, an event lawn, streetscape, parking, and a turf field sponsored by the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation. Phase II will include three multi-use fields, a fitness trail, playground, bike connections, and a fishing pier. Community engagement, held in the recently opened Wellness Center, facilitated the design of a sports-themed playground and new community gathering space with a large shade pavilion. • Floura Teeter led the design team for a 2.5-mile bike and pedestrian corridor on Carroll Street in Salisbury, Maryland enhancing safety and connectivity. The project, part of a larger traffic calming initiative, features a two-way cycle track, pedestrian path along the Wicomico River bank, and green space with native plants. New traffic signals, crosswalks, and street furniture create a safer, more vibrant public space. Light poles, benches and waste and recycling receptacles follow city standards. #LandscapeArchitecture #PlantingDesign #StreetscapePlanning #StormwaterManagement #FlouraTeeter City of Salisbury Triad Engineering, Inc. • Floura Teeter is proud to have provided landscape architecture services for this important project aimed at improving the safety and connectivity of Baltimore's streets.

  • Exciting things are in the works for the City of Annapolis, MD Floura Teeter is providing landscape architecture services for amenities and placemaking enhancements along existing and new trails throughout Annapolis. In collaboration with transportation engineers at Mead & Hunt Floura Teeter’s landscape architects are working closely with City staff to design multiple trail segments. Once constructed the trail network will connect residents to destinations within Annapolis and to the wider regional trail network. Amenities and trail enhancements are responsive to the needs of a diverse group of trail users that fall into categories of leisure, fitness, and commuters, and may include parents and toddlers with strollers, dog walkers, running and fitness enthusiasts, and bicyclists. These infrastructure improvements are more than an alternative transportation route, they can be considered linear parks with amenities that bring neighbors together. Community engagement is at the heart of it all, with input from residents to shape the trails to their needs. This initiative seeks to establish a comprehensive bike trail network that links the City of Annapolis with its surroundings, allowing greater accessibility and connectivity for residents and visitors alike. The City of Annapolis is firmly committed to promoting multimodal transportation solutions and plans to begin implementation of these projects in 2025, bringing fresh opportunities for active living and supporting local businesses! #LandscapeArchitecture #FlouraTeeter #AnnapolisMD #BikeTrails #CommunityEngagement #SustainableTransportation

  • We're excited to share our work on the landscape and site design in the Rosemont Homes community for @BaltimoreCityHousing! From concept development to construction, we focused on creating ADA and HUD-compliant spaces that not only serve the residents but the surrounding community too. The design refreshes existing amenities, incorporates the site's natural topography, and preserves the tree canopy 🌳. New features include a mister pad, sport court, and picnic areas for a welcoming, modern community with lush plantings and green spaces. Additionally, the centerpiece includes a refreshed Rosemont Community Center with a new playground and cycle track creating a new hub for activities and play. #CommunityDesign #AffordableHousing #LandscapeArchitecture #GreenSpaces Developer: Telesis Baltimore Corporation Architect: Moseley Architects Civil Engineer: KCW Engineering Technologies Structural Engineer: Skarda & Associates Inc.
