About us
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is a German foundation devoted to the promotion of liberal principles and to political education. FNF was established in 1958 by Prof. Theodor Heuss, the first President of the Federal Republic of Germany. The goal of the foundation is to advance the principles of freedom and dignity for all people in all areas of society, both in Germany and abroad FNF promotes individual freedom and liberalism in cooperation with local partners through civic education, international political dialogue and political counseling programs. FNF is active in over 60 countries around the world, spanning Europe, Africa, Asia, and North, and Central America. Within these project countries, our regional offices work to support human rights, rule of law, and democracy. In order to achieve these aims, the foundation seeks to foster both international and transatlantic dialogue through conferences, study tours, and publications, among other means. In addition, the foundation supports local, regional, and national initiatives which advance the rights of minorities, the democratic control of security forces, and the strengthening of international human rights coalitions. FNF Lebanon and Syria promotes liberal thinking and liberal policies in cooperation with local partners by organizing activities of civic education, seminars, conferences, supporting publications, and international political dialogues. We provide political consulting mainly to liberal political parties in order to improve their programmatic basis, their strategic orientation, and their political communication with citizens. The reason why we cooperate with political parties worldwide is our belief in election-based democracy.

The Lebanese Center for Policy Studies, in collaboration with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, held an expert roundtable to address the impact of Lebanon’s ongoing and multiple crises on the pharmaceutical sector. Experts discussed the challenges of medicine shortages, rising costs, and the urgent need for policy reforms and explored potential recovery strategies, including boosting local production, attracting foreign investments, and maintaining international partnerships. The Lebanese Center for Policy Studies (LCPS), in collaboration with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, held an expert roundtable on the challenges facing Lebanon's cultural and creative industries (CCIs) amid the ongoing economic and financial crisis. The invited speakers discussed the impact of the crisis, the role of aid, and strategies for a sustainable recovery. They also offered recommendations that can be applied by policymakers at the government level.
