🌱 New Discoveries in Hybrid Plant-Animal Cells: Could This Bring Us Closer to Overcoming Oxygenation Challenges in Tissue Engineering? 🌱 A recent study has introduced a fascinating breakthrough: hybrid cells that integrate plant and animal cell functions, potentially allowing for photosynthetic oxygen production within animal cells. For tissue engineering, where oxygenation in thick tissue constructs remains a major hurdle, this could hint at new directions in research. Yet, while promising, the leap from cellular-level oxygenation to fully functional, thick tissues is complex. Vascularization, stability, and nutrient distribution remain key challenges that go beyond this single advancement. Could innovations like these bring us closer to truly functional engineered tissues? Or are we still far from a viable solution? 👇 Share your insights below! Biotechnology company that is creating bioinks for 3D bioprinting, an advanced method for tissue engineering.
About us
Foldink® is a Biotechnology startup which provides 3D Bioprinting technology to biomedical scientists who are conducting research in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Foldink’s 3D Bioprinters and Bioinks help scientist to develop living tissue constructs. Biofabricated tissues can be used in scientific experiments, pharmacological research, development of cosmetics and pharmaceutical products. The aim of this field of science is to achieve the clinical application of 3D printed organs and tissues. This process has started, and 3D bioprinting is moving from theoretical science into the use in hospitals as an alternative to transplantation. The usage of bioprinted organs in the future will solve the worldwide lack of organ-transplants, which leads to the death of many patients even in highly developed countries. Unfortunately, the development of 3D bioprinting technology is hampered by the fact that it is not yet available for many scientists in the world. Foldink is going to change this, by making 3D bioprinting technology available for every laboratory. Foldink is developing 3D bioprinters with microextrusion Syringe-Based System and bioinks to create cell-laden tissue scaffolds. We believe that Foldink bioprinters will be a catalyst for the development of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. So, let’s Print the Future Together!

🧪 Does this sound familiar? Comment below if you've lived this story before: A brilliant author publishes the #3Dtissuemodel of your dreams! You try to get in touch to adapt their findings to your work, then... 🤦 The model requires equipment or reagents you can't access (e.g. a #bioprinter, #bioink, #electrospinner, or #bioreactor), or maybe... 🔬 You can't reproduce their results at scale, or worse yet... 👨💼 Some university #techtransfer team is dragging its feet on getting you an MTA or Licensing Agreement If this sounds like you, let Foldink help bridge the gap from inspiration to execution in #3DCellCulture Got a question?
