We will miss our undergraduate nursing students from University of Maryland School of Nursing very much. They just completed their community health nursing rotation with us and helped provide healthy foods, basic needs, and health education to nearly five hundred families served at our facility. As they embark on their nursing careers, they carry with them the tools necessary to make significant contributions to public health and improve the well-being of the populations they serve. Thanks to the faculty, Dr. Foluke Ajuwon. We applaud our very own Director of Outreach, Dr. Adekunle Adejumo, for his excellent leadership. #publichealth #publichealtheducation #academicpracticepartnership #fcfaglobal #nonprofit

🌟 Exciting collaboration alert! 🌟 We recently partnered with Howard County Health Department to equip University of Maryland School of Nursing students and the community with essential skills in opioid overdose prevention and safe medical disposal. By training on recognizing overdose signs and administering Naloxone, we're enhancing public health readiness. This academic-practice partnership not only empowers future nurses but also strengthens our community's response to the opioid crisis. Together, we're building a healthier future! 💪💙 #PublicHealth #NursingEducation #OpioidResponse Food and Care For All (FCFA)

Kudos to Food and Care For All (FCFA), Meals for Kidz Initiative, and Christ Lifeline Ministry for a successful 2024 global educational outreach. We distributed essential school supplies and food to nearly 300 primary and secondary school students of both Ebekun Grammar School and Oluresi High School in rural regions of Osun State, Nigeria. Our deepest gratitude goes to all sponsors, coordinators, and volunteers who made this event come to fruition. At FCFA, we do our best to support under-resourced students in the U.S. and Sub-Saharan Africa with the supplies they need to stay in school and succeed. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela #globaloutreach #backtoschoolsupplies #education #Nigeria #schoolsupplies #food #giveback #Africa
On Friday, July 19th, I traveled to Iresi, Osun State, to join the inspiring Oluwatosin Adeyemo Olateju, DrPH, MSN, BSN , founder of Food and Care for All (FCFA). She collaborated with Christ Lifeline Ministry to bring joy to the students of Ebekun Grammar School and Oluresi High School. Before the event, we visited the Sickbay at Baptist Grammar School, a project funded by Professor Tosin and commissioned in November 2021. It was heartwarming to see her pride in the progress made, though she reminded me, "A lot has been done, but much work remains." This brought to mind the scripture, "Many are called, but few are chosen." I realized that many are blessed, but few are ready to be a blessing. The children were educated on the importance of pursuing education before chasing money. To reinforce this message, schoolbags, books, and magazines were distributed to the students. It was poignant to see that many of them did not even have a schoolbag. This experience deeply moved me and highlighted the critical need for support in these communities. I always remind myself to be a blessing to those around me. From Professor Tosin, I learned key lessons about leadership style, consistency, discipline, and most importantly, compassion. Compassion is essential to reaching and uplifting others. Remember, the world is your stage. Walk confidently, spread your wings, and never forget to lift others as you rise. #volunteering #makingimpact #onestepatatime #nursing #community #publichealth #shebelievedshecouldandshedid

Serve Day is a day where members and attendees of Union Church come together to serve the community through volunteer work at various local organizations. May God bless you and continue to meet your needs according to his riches in glory! 🙏🏽 #communityservice #serveday #giveback #nonprofit #volunteer #howardcounty #fcfaglobal #fcfafoodpantry #community

During the summer break, many families with school-aged children struggle to provide groceries without access to school meals. We thank Gov. Wes Moore for addressing this problem and launching Maryland SUN Bucks, a new benefits program providing families with $120 to buy groceries for each eligible school-aged child during the summer.
