We're almost halfway ($46,642) to our $100,000 goal! We want a surge of energy from The Bronx Bombers - and you - for the rest of the Series!
This NYC vs. LA faceoff isn’t just about baseball - it’s about showing out for the best city in the world and showing up for the neighbors who need us most. Food Bank For NYC and LA Regional Food Bank are going head-to-head during the World Series to see who can raise the most for neighbors in need. The best part? Every dollar donated to Food Bank For NYC is doubled by the New York Yankees Foundation up to $50,000! Step up to the plate and donate today: https://lnkd.in/dBBe_Q_Z

For Jorge and Melissa Pino, working together at Food Bank For New York City has always felt like a natural fit. Both children of immigrants with a passion for serving others, this dynamic duo has taken lessons learned from their civic-minded parents into the next generation by involving their own kids in the work they do at Food Bank. 🧡 During Hispanic Heritage Month and beyond, we remain committed to standing with the Hispanic community, delivering critical resources, and amplifying the voices of those we serve. ➡️Learn more: https://bit.ly/3YqnQcP #HispanicHeritageMonth #GiveBack

It's National School Lunch Week! At Food Bank For NYC, we're all about fueling students with healthy meals that power their minds and bodies. Our CookShop program is here to inspire kids to dive into new flavors and make smart food choices. 🍓🥑 School meals are designed to meet strict federal nutrition standards—designed to support students' growth and health. According to the Food Research & Action Committee, "children participating in school meals... are more likely to consume fruit, vegetables, and milk at breakfast and lunch". Let’s turn this week into a food adventure! Encourage your kids to explore something new on their plates today. 🧡 Learn more: https://bit.ly/405sBtA #NationalSchoolLunchWeek #NSLW24 #SchoolMeals4All

Over 200 food pantry leaders from across our city provided their expert input on how state policies can fight food insecurity among New Yorkers who are grappling with the high cost of living. In partnership with City Harvest and United Way of New York City, our city’s three largest anti-hunger organizations, we identified three ways that State policies can help create food secure futures: (1) Get more food to people who need it by investing in the emergency food system and expanding SNAP benefits and eligibility (2) Make childcare affordable to help alleviate a key factor in higher food insecurity rates for families (3) Improve housing stability to protect New Yorkers who are rent-burdened and 3X as likely to experience food insecurity We recently sent these policy priorities in a letter to Governor Hochul.
