Earlier this week, some of NYC’s best comedians—Hannah Berner, Mark Normand, Alex English, Julio Diaz, and Charles McBee— came together for Food Bank For New York City’s Gotham Laughs comedy benefit. They took over Gotham Comedy Club with laughter that amounted to over $20K for food security! A huge thank you to our friends at Tito's Handmade Vodka, everyone who attended, and to the incredible comedians who made it all possible! Learn more: https://bit.ly/47Unn5A #NYC #Events #GiveBack

For Food Bank, our community is like family. When our #community garden needed to close for construction, Garden of Love in Harlem generously offered our older adults program a bed to grow food, allowing them to continue gardening while ours is unavailable. New York Restoration Project also stepped in to host several workshops at Garden of Love for our older adults, including Spring planting, mushroom growing, and Fall planting. They have absolutely loved it and were so grateful for the chance to learn from the experts. Thank you, Garden of Love and New York Restoration Project, for being a part of our Food Bank #family!

Hundreds gathered at the USS Intrepid Museum today for the National 9/11 Day of Service, commemorating the anniversary of September 11th through volunteerism and giving back. The event, held in New York City and cities across the country, saw volunteers from dozens of corporate groups, including our partners at Bank of America, packing meals for our neighbors in need. As a result of the two-day event, Food Bank For New York City will receive ONE MILLION meals to help empower every New Yorker to achieve food security for good. In his US Army uniform, Food Bank For New York City Director of Operations Muhammad Talha expressed gratitude, thanking participants for honoring our country while helping our community. There is nothing more American than feeding your neighbor. #NeverForget #NYC #GiveBack
