2nd Annual Food Security Asia was successfully held on the 11th - 12th of September 2024 at the prestigious Palm Garden, Putrajaya, Malaysia, in conjunction with the globally recognized MAHA: GO GLOBAL Exhibition 2024. The opening ceremony of the Food Security Asia 2024 was vibrant and engaging with notable addresses delivered by distinguished leaders including YB Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad Sabu(Minister of Agriculture and Food Security), YBhg. Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali (Secretary General of Ministry Of Agriculture and Food Security), Dato' Nor Sam Alwi (Director General of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture), and Dr Larry Wong (Senior Visiting Fellow of Institute of Strategic and International Studies). With a respected speaker lineup of the region's top food production professionals, 237 senior executive attendees, 5 key sponsors as well as endorsement from globally recognized supporting organizations, media, and government departments, this event successfully addressed the latest challenges, topics, trends, and technologies that will be shaping the future of food security. Food Security Asia is pleased to welcome Professor Ing. David Herák ,  Vice-Dean for International Relations of Czech University of Life Sciences Prague to speak about “Future Trends in Oilseed Processing Technologies for Sustainable Food Systems” on the 12th of September at the Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya, Malaysia to over 200 senior executives in the food industry. Prof. Ing. David Herák, Ph.D. is currently a Vice-Dean for International Relations and a professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. He specializes in applying agricultural technologies in tropical countries and energy efficiency for processing agricultural products. His research work is strongly linked with the modelling and simulation of the behaviour of agricultural products and their transformation into virtual reality in the form known as digital twins. For the last twenty years, he has been involved in several scientific projects focused on processing agricultural products worldwide (Ethiopia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Turkey, and Ukraine). He is a summer school coordinator in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Turkey. He also served as a guest professor at several foreign universities. Professor Herák is the author of 185 publications in scientific databases (71 in Web of Science, H-index 11, and 114 in Scopus, H index 17), the author of three patents, a member of the European Physical Society, a member of the Czech Academy of Agricultural Sciences, an editor, and a member of the editorial board of several high-level scientific journals such are Biosystems Engineering, Processes, Energies, Research in Agricultural Engineering and others.
