Grateful for our team members celebrating employee anniversaries this July! Thank you for your 68 years of service!

Since the pandemic, the Food Bank has placed a high priority on direct delivery programs and expanding the capacity of our partners. For under-resourced areas, this improved access to food makes an incredible difference. We now serve nearly 50,000 more people each month through these programs.

It's an exciting time to join the Food Bank team and help alleviate hunger and prevent food waste every day. We are looking for an Orange County based Director of Transportation, an Orange County based Agency Technology Coordinator, and a hybrid Nutrition Resource Manager based in either Albany County or Orange County! The Food Bank's new distribution center in Orange County, set to open later this year, is a transformational investment in the Hudson Valley and its residents. With Feeding America's latest Map the Meal Gap study showing food insecurity rates in our service area jumping from 8.5% to 11.4%, a project like this is needed now more than ever. The Food Bank's CEO, Tom Nardacci, has committed $15,000 to the Regional Food Bank Hudson Valley's Capital Campaign and is challenging our community to raise $15,000 more by the end of the month. The traditional Summer Food Service Program offers meals and snacks to kids in group settings like parks and day camps. This summer, we are piloting a Rural Non Congregate model of the Program in select locations, offering kids in rural areas a week's worth of breakfasts and lunches that are shelf stable and easy-to-prepare.

A big thank you to Price Chopper Supermarkets-Market 32 for supporting the Food Bank with a portion of proceeds during their recent grand opening celebrations! This gift will provide more than 100,000 meals to our neighbors in need!

Congratulations to Hea Gundlach, our Americorps VISTA intern who spent the last year helping out with our Patroon Land Farm! Hea was awarded the VISTA Change Maker Award within their cohort, and as their time with Americorps comes to a close, we are pleased to announce Hea will be joining us full-time as Farm Operations Manager!
