ICYMI — Corina Vanek with The Arizona Republic shared this inside look at what our new facility will mean for our community. [ The additional space will also provide room to have meetings with people who come to the food bank, to learn about their individual circumstances and connect them with other resources like rent assistance, transportation, health services and other areas that could help. “Very rarely is someone food insecure and yet everything else is going great,” Leigh Zydonik said. “Our goal is to look at the root cause.” ] Please click below for the full article and join us at www.foothillsfoodbank.com to help us #EndHunger for our neighbors in need. 📰 https://lnkd.in/guYywBdy

Building Hope Together Our Executive Director, Leigh Zydonik, recently shared an update to our capital building campaign -- please take a moment to see how far we've come in making the new facility a reality. [.. incredible donors who have stepped up to support the mission of Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center. It’s not just about the contributions; it’s about the spirit of community and commitment that these companies embody. Their support reflects a deep understanding of the challenges our neighbors face, and we are so thankful for their dedication. .. we’ve received (3) generous donations that will significantly impact our programs and capital building campaign. First, I want to highlight the DIANE AND BRUCE HALLE FOUNDATION, which has provided a remarkable grant dedicated to our efforts to assist vulnerable community members aged 55 and older. Next, a substantial donation from Thunderbirds Charities aimed at enhancing our programs for children that will ensure that young people in our community have access to the food and resources they need to thrive. Most recently, SolarTech contributed to our Faces of Hope campaign, which is essential for the ongoing construction of our new campus.] These organizations join the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, OneAZ Credit Union, and others in committing to the future of the Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center. Our mission thrives because of the people and organizations that believe in the power of #community. Together, we are building a future where no one is left behind, and we are truly grateful for everyone who has joined us on this journey. https://lnkd.in/gGwkthSh

Since 1988 we’ve served over 200 square miles of the North Valley from our make shift facility in the Town of Cave Creek. We’re grateful for our community support which gets us excited for our future — one that allows us to continue the work that provides a hand-up to our neighbors in need. Thanks Mitchell for helping us share the excitement taking place on Carefree Highway 🏗️ #EndHunger

𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙏𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 🤝 We recently received a generous donation from Thunderbird Charities, a non-profit organization formed in 1986 to distribute monies raised through the WM Phoenix Open. Their mission to support organizations that assist children and families aligns with our efforts to help families in need. From food pantries, to in-school programs to our back-to-school supply drives — we’re dedicated to making sure children throughout the Valley have what they need to succeed. Thanks to the team at The Foothills Focus for helping us share the good news! This generous grant by the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust will literally change lives for the better. Our new campus will more than double our #FoodRescue and distribution capabilities, while also adding training facilities to help folks become better at navigating life’s unforeseen challenges. Since 1988 we’ve been serving the North Valley in a makeshift facility in the Town of Cave Creek — this new, green and state of the art campus will be a game changer for helping our neighbors in need. #EndHunger
