As educators know, learning outcomes must be measurable, and data informs instruction. At Footsteps2Brilliance, reliable data is a central component of our program, and we are thrilled to collaborate with statisticians like Dr. Nicholas Chitwood who help make that possible. Dr. Chitwood's excellent work in automating data collection processes, streamlining report development, and minimizing manual data requests helps maximize the effectiveness of the Literacy by 5th initiative in Riverside County Office of Education. Congratulations to Dr. Chitwood for receiving the honor of Classified Administrator of the Year - it is well deserved! A community that reads together excels together 💪 In this 5th year of the Mayor's Reading Challenge, Mayor Joseph Meyer challenges City of Covington, Kentucky students build literacy skills by logging onto Footsteps2Brilliance every day, with prizes for participants. Read Ready Covington Director Mary Kay Connolly, who has been instrumental in helping students in Covington read more than 286,100 books since 2019, notes that it's more productive for students to log into the apps for 15 to 20 minutes of reading rather than long stretches.
