We are grateful to all who joined For All Seasons Speaker Series event delivered by Dr. Jeff Thompson – Be a Lifeline: Recognizing and Responding to Those At Risk of Suicide. Special thanks to Dr. Thompson, a research psychologist at Columbia University Medical Center and retired NYPD detective, who helped us to better understand those who are at risk and why. Dr. Thompson gave us actionable steps to protect ourselves and others while recognizing the complexity of the issues around suicide. Thompson invited us to remember that we are all just human. Starting conversations when you are worried about someone is hard – but it is an extraordinary act of kindness and connection.
