About us

Fora Health Treatment & Recovery formerly De Paul Treatment Centers is a healthcare nonprofit providing treatment, care, and advocacy for all who are affected by substance use disorder. Fora Health builds on De Paul's nearly five decades of experience and excellence delivering individualized care plans to support people and families in recovery. The new name is a renewed promise to our region, to offer exceptional, comprehensive care while also introducing an unmatched facility, deepening long-standing partnerships, and engaging the public in education and advocacy. Fora Health provides drug and alcohol treatment to men, women, youth, and families. We offer a full continuum of care that includes medical detox, residential, day treatment and outpatient programs, peer recovery mentors, family therapy, and treatment of co-occurring mental health disorders. We use comprehensive, culturally appropriate, and evidence-based practices that help individuals and families stabilize, reconnect and heal. Fora Health views addiction as a complex, chronic and treatable disease. We believe that all individuals have within them the innate health and capacity to recover. Fora Health’s programs are nationally accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

  • We are excited to be honoring Doyal Smith with this year’s Samuel C. Wheeler Freedom Award! His inspiring recovery journey, interwoven in De Paul's history, has immensely impacted our neighbors seeking recovery! His lived experiences led Doyal to De Paul, at first as a patient. His journey allowed him to return as a volunteer and then staff member to begin building a successful career in the recovery field. Today, Doyal is the Executive Director at Dual Diagnosis Anonymous (DDA), which launched its first meeting in De Paul's basement. For 30 years, he has been a committed advocate for recovery and mental health to our neighbors seeking help. Don’t miss his inspiring story, the opportunity to come together to celebrate recovery and help us honor Doyal at Fora’s Hope and Freedom Gala on Saturday, October 5th at The Avenue. • Recovery Month celebrates the gains made by those in recovery, just as we celebrate health improvements made by those who are managing other health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and heart disease. This observance reinforces the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover.

  • In July, we honor the legacy of author, advocate, and trailblazer Bebe Moore Campbell by recognizing Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. Moore Campbell's ability to tell impactful stories highlighting themes of racism, mental health, and family left a lasting mark on this world and is a foundation for much of the work that continues in support of Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) mental health. Mental health stigma is a negative or discriminatory attitude someone holds about mental health. Learn more about how to break down stigma in BIPOC communities and create a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing their experiences with mental health at this Mental Health America page: https://lnkd.in/gaqEYiKJ

  • It's National Parent's Day and we'd like to recognize all the incredible patients with children who come through our doors. Many patients not only work hard on their recovery for their own lives but so they can so they can be there for loved ones once they graduate. Fora Health does whatever it can when able to create fun events where patients and their children can have fun, be together and feel supported.
