Today is a special day with Forever Young Veterans as 26 Vietnam Veterans head out to their local airport to embark on a journey of a lifetime. We express our gratitude for the chance to accompany these Vietnam Veterans on a Trip of Honor to Washington, DC. There they will experience hope, honor, and healing. This could not happen without your generosity. Please send prayers for safe travel for all of our veterans and volunteers.

Please join us in congratulating our 2024 Volunteer of the Year, Jerry Melcher. Jerry has played a vital role on our Trips of Honor to Washington D.C. He was a Medic in Vietnam and, after the war, received his doctorate and became a Psychologist for the U.S. Army, where he worked with soldiers struggling with PTSD. On these trips, Jerry makes himself available to any veteran who wants to talk about the ways in which their combat stress still affects their everyday life. He provides another avenue for our veterans to get the healing they need, even continuing conversations long after the trip is over. We celebrate you Jerry for your selfless service to our Vietnam veterans and for the goodness your bring to our Trips of Honor and our organization. We’re so grateful for you!
