We are thrilled to introduce Summer Spain as the new Hispanic Programs Director at Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center! Summer brings with her a wealth of experience, including over 25 years as a successful entrepreneur, having owned and operated multiple Mexican restaurants. Beyond her business acumen, Summer has spent much of her life serving the Hispanic and Latinx community by providing court translation, interpretation and other vital services. Her deep passion for advocacy and community service, combined with her bilingual skills, make her an invaluable asset to Forge. Summer is eager to use her expertise to improve access to resources for Hispanic and Latinx breast cancer survivors. We are excited to have her on our team as she works to support, empower, and uplift our community. Please join us in giving Summer a warm welcome!

More than 4,000 Alabama women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. The journey is physically, mentally and financially draining. But Forge offers strength, creating personalized survivorship plans and pairing clients with survivor volunteers to listen and accompany them to appointments. We provide resources that include health and wellness classes, professional mental health counseling, gas cards for transportation to appointments, wigs, treatment supply boxes and more.
