Forge Nano CEO Paul Lichty and CTO James Trevey spoke with TechCrunch reporter Rebecca Bellan surrounding the company's recent announcement of strategic partnership and investment from General Motors. The partnership and investment comes as GM drops its Ultium battery branding and moves away from a “single cell, single chemistry, single form factor strategy to more of a multi-cell, multi-supplier, multi-chemistry, multi-form factor strategy for our battery roadmap." Forge Nano and Forge Battery will be in Detroit next week for The Battery Show! We have a lot to share with the battery industry coming off the recent news of Forge Battery's $100M award negotiation with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to expand production capacity of its North Carolina Gigafactory. Whether you're interested in how Atomic Layer Deposition (#ALDep) can improve your battery material performance, or how Forge Battery cells can deliver 300 Wh/kg for your application, please stop by our booth #4406 to chat with our team of experts. Forge leadership will also be speaking throughout the week on topics including battery manufacturing, battery supply chain and U.S battery policy. Don't miss talks from CEO Paul Lichty, CTO James Trevey and VP of Energy Storage Barbara Hughes throughout the week.

Breaking News! We are extremely excited to announce that Forge Battery has been selected to receive $100M in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The funding will allow Forge Battery to expand production capacity at its Morrisville, NC lithium-ion battery Gigafactory to 3 GWh/year. The DOE funding highlights the demand for domestically-produced, high-performance battery cells. This news also follows Forge Battery's recent bulk shipments of the company's 300 Wh/kg Gen 1.1 Supercell to current customers. The batteries, powered by #AtomicArmor #ALDep technology, will serve numerous high-energy applications, including electric trucking, off-highway vehicles, aerospace and defense. We cannot thank the Department of Energy enough for their support of our mission to make the US a major competitor on the a global scale in the energy transition. We look forward to fostering a deeper connection with the state of North Carolina and Morrisville community. Read the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/geJ9EMw5

At #ALDALE2024, ASM’s Ivo Raaijmakers showed that the single wafer #ALDep market could reach as high as $5.0B by 2027, with the current wave of metal ALD partially propelling it. Even with many equipment suppliers having moved to batch processing tools to increase throughput, the need for high-quality films with high yield remains. These are just a few reasons we are excited to have TEPHRA in our product lineup, our single wafer, thermal ALD cluster platform. The core tenants of TEPHRA - high throughputs, high chemical efficiency and low waste – combine to create an ALD tool without the traditional tradeoffs of the technology. Plus its ability to perform metal ALD with a thermal process opens the door for new applications in the #semiconductor industry, especially those with complex or high-aspect ratio structures, like through wafer vias. TEPHRA is positioned to enable solutions unattainable with traditional thermal or plasma-enhanced ALD, expanding the bounds of scalable ALD processes in semiconductor manufacturing. To learn more about TEPHRA and our ALDx technology, please contact marketing@forgenano.com!

The Forge Nano team thanks everyone for the fantastic meeting and great conversations at #ALDALE2024. With attendance approaching record highs, it was an excellent opportunity to see some old friends and meet new faces. We feel fortunate to be part of such a wonderful community and to have the chance to have celebrated the 50 year anniversary of #ALDep in Finland where it all began. Our team had the pleasure of presenting scale up data in our continuous processing tool for improving battery materials and results on catalyzed AlN deposition for power, RF and high-aspect ratio applications, in addition to participating in an ever-expanding exhibition. If you didn’t get the chance to chat with our team at the conference, we would still love to hear from you! If you have any questions for our team regarding powder ALD, battery manufacturing or catalyzed deposition, or have interest in learning more about our talks, please feel free to reach out to marketing@forgenano.com!
