In the 2024 State of Member Experience Report, we asked association members: How do you prefer to engage with other members of your association? 49% of association members stated that they prefer in-person interactions, and another 36% stated that they prefer community platforms, closing the gap between live events and digital communities compared to previous years. Members are seeking more personal connections, but there's also growing enthusiasm for a hybrid learning approach. Online community platforms offer year-round engagement in a way that live events can't replicate (and they help to combat Zoom fatigue).
