Forsyth County held a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning for the expansion of the Fowler Water Reclamation Facility, now able to process up to 7.5 million gallons of wastewater per day to meet the County's growing needs! District 3 Commissioner Todd Levent, County Manager David McKee and Water & Sewer Director Scott Adams were joined by partners from ESG Engineering, Inc., Inframark and The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western to celebrate this investment in the future of our water system and the many employees who made it possible. Due to weather conditions, general Forsyth County government offices and facilities will close at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26. The County has a planned delayed opening for noon on Friday, Sept. 27, subject to conditions at that time. This early closure includes County government offices, the Pet Resource Center, recycling convenience centers, Senior Services and Parks & Recreation facilities. Thirty Forsyth County residents are the latest graduates of Citizens’ Academy, a summer-long program that provides a look into the inner workings of our County government. Over eight classes from May to September, participants toured various facilities and spoke with local staff and leadership about County functions that serve the community.
