Students sampled delicious dishes like tamales, arroz (rice), Mexican street corn, horchata, chips and salsa, and even ensalada de manzana (apple salad)! Last night, we had the honor of recognizing Stu Cochrane for his incredible 28 years of service on the FDCSD School Board, with 19 of those years as Board President. In a special moment, Mayor Bemrich surprised Stu by presenting a proclamation in recognition of his service and unwavering commitment to FDCSD. Stu has been a dedicated advocate for our students, staff, and community, investing countless hours to support and strengthen our district. Today was all about welcoming our new teachers to the Dodger family! Our newest educators gathered for a day of training, learning the ropes, and getting to know the amazing team that keeps our district running smoothly. They heard from district leaders about how each department supports our schools, setting them up for success. And, of course, a huge Dodger shoutout to Shiny Top for hosting us all for a delicious lunch! It was a great chance for new teachers, administration, and teacher mentors to connect and recharge.
