  • Networking is not just about connecting with people; it's about connecting with ideas and people with opportunities. Shout-out to Family First Adolescent Services for creating opportunities for professionals to help those in the adolescent community. Also, congratulations to our new PHP program, led by Dr. Mary Fiaschetti. Thank you, Amanda Bassos, Vanina Hochman, and Ben Cecil, for being great hosts at this wonderful event. It's always a pleasure to support our community partners! Pictured in the first photo from left to right are Carlos Butler, Ben Cecil, Vanina Hochman, Dr. Mary Fiaschetti, and Amanda Bassos.

  • A special shout out to the United Recovery Project for co-hosting our “Coffee and Conversations” event this month. Thank you to everyone who attended. How often do you get to stand next to one of your local police officers or firefighters with a cup of coffee in your hand and have a casual conversation? It is all about connection and collaboration! Stay tuned for our next “Coffee and Conversations” event in September!

  • Earlier this week, we had an insightful Lunch and Learn with Juan Velez, Fire Lieutenant at Lauderhill Fire Rescue, to discuss how the Community Paramedics Program effectively addresses even the most challenging gray areas of distress or non-emergency conflicts that can occur at any time within our community. It’s inspiring to see these types of programs becoming the norm across our Tri-County area, and Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center is proud to serve as a resource and catalyst for this important work throughout South Florida. Comment “community” if you’d like more information on these programs.

  • At Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center, we understand the importance of fostering and promoting educational opportunities for the community and our professionals in the field to improve patient care. With that in mind and the support from Family First Adolescent Services (FFAS), we created a Baker Act Training for Involuntary and Voluntary Hospitalization on procedures and effectiveness to support mental health professionals and law enforcement personnel in the community to remain current and informed when addressing the needs of children, adolescents, and their families. A huge thanks to our COO, Miguel Fernandez, for being one of the key speakers at this event in collaboration with Vanina Hochman, National Director of Clinical Outreach, and Erin Beattie, Director of Clinical Services at FFAS. Also, thank you to all the attendees for supporting this initiative.
