About us
When our founders assembled a group of musicians in 1912, they laid the foundation for what is now one of our community's greatest cultural assets. Today, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra serves a diverse audience of more than 200,000 children and adults through 200 concerts each year across North Texas. As the anchor of the Fort Worth arts community, the FWSO serves as the official orchestra for the Fort Worth Opera, Texas Ballet Theater, Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, and Texas Christian University’s Pianofest. The FWSO also performs our own robust programming at two of the city's most celebrated venues: Bass Performance Hall, home to the FWSO’s pops and symphonic concerts, and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, where the six-week summer festival Concerts in the Garden has served over 850,000 since its debut in 1991. For more information about the Orchestra and our upcoming performances, please visit www.fwsymphony.org or call us at 817-665-6500.

"In writing this review, it was tempting to list all of the moments that made this performance so memorable, but that would require an extensive essay of esoteric musings. So, let me leave you with this statement: This was probably the best performance I have ever heard of Mahler’s Fifth, as well as from the FWSO." - Gregory Sullivan Isaacs, EarRelevant Wow! Thank you to EarRelevant for this phenomenal review of our Season Finale this past weekend! 🎻 Read the review: https://lnkd.in/gwby22xC

#ThrowbackThursday to last week when local middle and high school students got a glimpse into the FWSO’s rehearsal process for Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5. Our favorite part about Open Rehearsals is the Q&A session where students are invited to engage with our staff and musicians. This one featured our VP of Operations, Victoria J. Moore and FWSO Cellist, John Belk who shared more about life as a professional musician! 🎻
