Here’s a recent update that’s making waves: On April 26, 2024, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) published the much-anticipated final rule that will increase the minimum salary for many exempt employees. The increase will take effect in two steps. If you’d like to review the regulations yourself, they are available in the link below—the relevant changes start on page 130 of the downloadable PDF. At Fortitude HR Solutions, we’re committed to keeping you informed and prepared. Here’s our take on this development: 1. Ensure that salaried exempt employees make at least the new minimum salary required for their classification. 2. Talk to your labor attorney to ensure you're in compliance with the new wage laws and reclassify any exempt employees as nonexempt and provide them with the rights and benefits that nonexempt employees are entitled to (e.g., minimum wage and overtime pay) if advised to do so. 3. Great couple days conducting leadership training with Kimble Companies
Thankful for the opportunity to conduct leadership training for Kimble Companies the past 2 days! In our interview training module, we covered the legal aspects of interviews, dos on interviewing, and don'ts of interviewing. In the performance management training module, we covered what doing poor reviews can lead to, best practice tips for reviews, and common rater errors and how to avoid them. It was great to work again with Michael Roden! It was like old times!
