Dr Fei-Fei Li told #FortuneMPW it was her natural reaction to “cringe” at her "Godmother of AI" title. “It really is not my personality to call myself godmother of anything," she told the audience. But even with years of expertise in the field of machine intelligence and a laundry list of esteemed positions, from Google vice president and chief scientist to Stanford University professor to author, Li was hesitant to take center stage. Appian’s CEO, Matt Calkins, turned down the chance to be a multimillionaire twice—the first time was when he was just 26 years old. Calkins was the youngest director at MicroStrategy when he left the company to launch Appian Corporation in 1999 with his three friends, Michael Beckley, Robert Kramer, and Marc Wilson. It meant walking away from his shares, which had just ballooned thanks to the company’s IPO one year prior. “It was my 20s, it seemed like you could walk away from one fortune and just find another,” he tells me. Now, he's worth a cool $4 billion. Find out how he got there in my latest for Fortune 👇🏼 https://lnkd.in/eb38r2SU #CEO #billionaire #career

I can't stop thinking about the conversation I had with Reshma Saujani and Christy Turlington about the state of motherhood in the U.S.—from declining mental health and maternal mortality to the lack of affordable childcare that's driving moms out of the workforce and preventing them from advancing in their careers. It was heavy, but it was hopeful. I'm so grateful to these women for their work, and for joining us at Fortune Most Powerful Women. Thank you Moms First and Every Mother Counts.

Halle Berry suffered from the incredibly common symptoms of menopause after she had been in perimenopause for about 10 years and didn’t know it. That realization sent Berry on a voyage not only to raise money in Silicon Valley to launch a community platform with her new midlife women’s wellness business, Respin, but also to rally the halls of Congress to support a bill aimed at directing $275 million for research on effective therapies and medicines.
