The Los Angeles Business Council recently came out with a study on the California zero emission drayage market. They helpfully give a shout out to the importance of multi-fleet shared depots, especially in enabling small fleets to successfully make the transition. That's Forum's bread and butter. The report outlines several recommendations to support the timely transition to zero-emission trucks. Among them: ➡️ Accelerate the development of electric charging infrastructure by streamlining the permitting process.   ➡️ Expand subsidies to cover steep truck prices. New battery-electric or hydrogen-fuel-cell trucks can cost between $400,000 – $600,000, up to four times the price of new diesel trucks and five times that of used diesel trucks – which are typically used by small drayage firms.    ➡️ Support the development of a secondhand zero-emission truck market. The report recommends that California prime the development of a secondhand market through various time-limited incentives. Today, the US Department of the Treasury released a notice of proposed rulemaking on the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit (section 30 C). It's helpful progress in lowering costs for charging. We appreciate the Biden Administration's support for lowering the costs of zero emission transportation. https://lnkd.in/eBNP26wq
